NoFap Founder Disputes His Attorneys in Amended Complaint

LOS ANGELES—NoFap founder Alexander Rhodes appears to have accused his attorneys of misrepresenting some key information in the initial complaint filed in a lawsuit he brought against Aylo, the parent company of Pornhub, and a defendant class he is accusing of defamation in a Pennsylvania state court. The filing in question was a motion to amend, filed by Rhodes' attorneys on December 2, 2025. While the filing itself is not outlandish, the amended complaint available for public viewing in the docket includes comments from someone who appears to be Rhodes, indicating that his attorneys made inaccurate statements in the initial complaint. AVN reported on the lawsuit earlier today, noting the expansive nature of the complaint. According to the comments in the feedback on the filing, Rhodes pointed to an assertion by his attorneys on page 148 that suggests he was "disparaged" by Dr. David Ley, one of the defendants, indicating a "knife attack in Canada" occurred linked to NoFap followers. Rhodes commented, "I'm concerned you just completely made up that David Ley wrote an article about a knife attack? This never happened, nor did my write-up allege that. Why did the submitted complaint state this?" In question is the assertion that Rhodes attorneys point to Ley supposedly sharing the news of the supposed knife attack in "an article [Ley] wrote" and later sent it to a mailing list of sex therapists and clinicians at a professional society. On the "mailing list, Defendant Ley wrote, 'I’m sure we will learn more. I’m hearing on back channels that this may have been related to the professor rejecting the idea of porn addiction and online nofappers being upset with it. Police are apparently investigating that aspect.'" He also referred to another footnote, noting that it "contained an outright falsity." Other comments and revisions made in the document feature simple language and grammar fixes. Alexander Rhodes et al. v. Aylo Holdings SARL et al. is filed in the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County. The case number is GD-24-013043. Rhodes is represented by the Pittsburgh-based law firm Kobylinski & Kobylinski LLC.
