Return of the Chechik: Curtain Rises on Adriana's Second Act

LOS ANGELES—When Adriana Chechik won AVN Female Performer of the Year in 2017, it came right on the heels of Donald Trump becoming President of the United States ... thus prompting her to utter one of the most memorable lines in AVN Awards history: "First Donald Trump and now Adriana Chechik, Female Performer of the Year." Now seven years later, as Trump is vying—legal troubles be damned—for a second term in the White House, Chechik too is getting her ducks lined up for her own return to porn domination.  "Oh my god, that's hysterical," Chechik laughs when we point out this concurrence of events. "What are the odds?" To some, the odds may seem decidedly low, considering that as recently as this past January, she made public comments indicating she had turned the page, so to speak, and would not be stepping foot in front of a porn camera again.  But she's the first to tell you that at the time, her outlook was clouded by the long recovery battle she'd been fighting—and continues to fight—since the horrific spinal injury she sustained in October 2022 when she leapt into a too-shallow foam pit during an appearance at TwichCon in San Diego. "I had some moments throughout my injury where I was mentally struggling with everything that was going on, and I kind of had some identity crisis because my life was adult movies and porn, and that was instantly taken away from me," she explains. "I mentally got really angry, and was like, 'I don't even like porn,' and I kind of publicly—I did publicly—say a lot of crazy things. "And what I realized through this whole experience, now that my back has healed and now that I've had the time to mentally cope with it and heal, is that I haven't had any overall bad experiences, and I don't hate porn, but I've had bad days, like any other job. And I think the fact that it was all taken away, and so many people were like, there's so many other things you can do, that I needed to believe that there was something else I was gonna do to get out of it. But now that I'm feeling healthy and able to move around, it's kind of the only thing that I've had, like, the fire type passion in me to do.  "I love video gaming, that's definitely a big second love, and I'm so happy I got into that space, but porn is ... I don't know, I get a competitive drive, and I also feel like I've built this huge empire with my fans, and the fact that I was able to sustain my income throughout my whole injury just based on how awesome they were to me, I was like, I don't want to walk away from such a big fan base, you know? So that's where I am now." To be a bit more precise, Chechik has in fact stepped foot in front of a porn camera or 14 in recent days. Thus far, it has been scenes with other creators for OnlyFans, but very soon, she'll be returning full force to studio scenes.  In fact, she has signed with a talent agency—Zen Models—and has already been booked through August for an avalanche of scenes almost entirely under the province of none other than Vixen Media Group.  Zen owner Veronica Nolind has a long history with Chechik, having worked with her from the beginning at her former agency LA Direct Models. "Veronica was one of the few agents I could actually tell the truth to or would understand me and allow me to have space to make my own decisions," Chechik recounts. "And I just told her, 'If you weren't working in the porn industry, I don't think I would come back.' Because I don't have a good track record of booking myself. I want to keep my good name. And I want people to know I actually have somebody that's gonna support me, because that's something I need. Since my injury, I have a lot of support—I've got assistants, I do PT three times a week—so this time around, I want people to know that I'm gonna make good on my name. I've got a great agent who's gonna help me and assist me, and I'm gonna try and kill it." Nolind returned the complimentary remarks, telling AVN, "We are happy to announce that Adriana Chechik will be joining Zen Models in her comeback to shooting mainstream adult work. Having known Adriana her entire career, we are honored that she entrusted us in her continued success. As a multi-award-winning performer, we are sure her fans will be delighted to hear that her comeback will start with Vixen Media Group." As for the Vixen camp, the excitement is, dare we say, broiling. Offered casting director Mike Moz: "Adriana returning to VMG is something every fan has been hoping for, so to say we are excited would be an extreme understatement. It's no secret Chechik is one of the best performers of all time. She built her reputation delivering 100 percent on every scene she's ever shot. Adriana is family and we're happy to have her back home!" He added, "The superstar Vixen Angel has been in some of our biggest, most successful projects: Vixen's After Dark, Deeper's Muse and Blacked's Bad Bitches, to name a few. I can't wait for everyone to see what she's got planned for VixenPlus.com." So just what can fans look forward to? Will the Crazy Chechik antics of yore be on display this go-round? (Insert "Make Adriana Gape Again" quip.) "I think now you're going to find that my porn is more refined," she muses. "A little bit more classy. I'll still be doing anal, all the crazy stuff, but you definitely won't see me doing any public peeing. I don't want anybody to pee on me." She continues, "I think that everything I do now, you can know 100 percent I'm not tired. I wanted to be here, and I wanted to put my body—even if I'm gonna be in a little bit of soreness the next day—I really wanted to perform." One signature Chechik feat that may not be as commonly seen anymore, sadly, is squirting. "Unfortunately, I'm not—I'm working on it—I'm not able to squirt," she laments. "I've squirted one time, and it took a very long time. Unfortunately, achieving an orgasm is a little bit more challenging because I did lose some of the feeling down there. I am working with somebody to help rebuild those nerves." On the bright side, though, she reports, "I recently did a really big anal scene with ... I'm not gonna say who, but like, one of the biggest dicks in porn right now. And it was so crazy, because I was so nervous. I was like, 'Oh my god, what if I'm not as good, or it's not gonna fit, or I can't do these positions,' and then actually I was so shocked ... I was like, you can't tell any difference besides the fact that I look older." Reflecting on how her outlook on the industry has changed over the past few years, Chechik submits, "I'm happy all these girls are doing OnlyFans, but I also kind of hate the rise of it at the same time. And I know people will be like, 'Why?' But I liked being a porn star. I liked being a star. I'm actually hoping that I'll spark, like, a bunch of girls to start shooting for companies again, like some of the girls from my generation.
