Pineapple Support Launches Group for Survivors of Domestic Abuse |
LOS ANGELESâPineapple Support, the adult industryâs leading mental health nonprofit, will host a free, online support group for survivors of domestic abuse, sponsored by Pornhub. The six-week support group, âSurvivors Of Domestic Abuseâ will be led by Pineapple therapist Alicia Graham and will begin on Tuesday, March 21. âHave you experienced abuse or violence in an intimate relationship, or ever felt manipulated, diminished, or traumatized?â asks Pineapple Support therapist Alicia Graham. âIf so, this group can help. We understand that anyone who has experienced an abusive relationship needs a safe and compassionate environment to begin the process of healing. Our highest priority is ensuring the group environment is safe, non-judgmental, and understanding for all participants.â Pineapple Support was founded by British performer Leya Tanit in 2018, after a string of losses in the adult industry from depression and other mental illnesses. The organization, a qualified 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization in the United States, has connected more than 8,000 adult performers to mental health services, including free and low-cost therapy, counseling, and emotional support. âIf you feel diminished in any of your intimate or family relationships, think you might have been in an abusive situation, or have experienced violence,â says Tanit. âWe are offering a support group dedicated to people who have experienced intimate partner abuse, violence, or trauma. Join us for positive, affirming, and confidential support.â The six-week âSurvivors Of Domestic Abuseâ support group begins on Tuesday, March 21st at 4 p.m. EST. Sessions will last for around one hour and will take place online each Tuesday at the same time until April 25th.
