Seth Gamble's 'Privilege' Debuts Mid-Season Finale

LOS ANGELES—The mid-season finale of Seth Gamble’s new series Privilege debuts today on Wicked.com, featuring AVN Female Performer of the Year nominee April Olsen and Damon Dice. The erotic drama, written and directed by the Gamma contract star and AVN Male Performer of the Year nominee, Gamble, is the story of family patriarch Alexander Nash (Evan Stone), who rules his family with an iron fist and a soft spot for his youngest daughter (Olsen). He's in the middle of a huge deal that he can't let anyone sabotage, from his duplicitous ex-wife (Lexi Luna) to his gold-digging new bride (Julia Ann), who has her eye on his money and his beloved son Liam (Nathan Bronson). Meanwhile Nash's other son Lucas (Lucky Fate), a compulsive gambler, puts the entire family empire in jeopardy through sheer ineptitude. As Alexander's personal saga unfolds, the torrid sex lives of his family come to light in a chain of events that will exposes more scandal. “Getting into the adult industry, I never once thought I’d be handed a real script,” said Olsen of her role as Stone’s seemingly innocent but whip-smart daughter. “But sometimes, just sometimes, the script is well-thought out and cohesive, and there are characters you can really connect with. I always find it a delightful challenge to adopt a new character and try my best to bring them to life.”  Olsen credited her director with giving her the guidance needed to hone the finer aspects of her performance. ”Seth is one of those porn performers who can truly act—rare!—so I was a little nervous to take his direction. I remember one tearful scene in particular that took me out of my comfort zone—no one made me cry or anything, it was literally just a crying scene,” she said. “But that’s why I got into the industry in the first place—to challenge myself and experience new things! As the old adage goes, ‘it is a porno after all,’ and we ended the many pages of dialogue with a steamy sex scene, featuring a particularly handsome Damon Dice. Seth said I rolled my eyes at him when he interrupted our passionate on-screen lovemaking. If I did, it was only because I was in character! Like a real actress!” For Gamble, the scene was especially intense and captivating. “It’s definitely one of the most passionate scenes in the movie; there was a real sense of chemistry and connection,” he said. “So much so, she would get perturbed every time we had to interrupt a take for technical reasons. I knew she was really taking the acting seriously and I was honored to have her deliver such an amazing performance in Privilege.”  But the main goal for the mid-season finale was to be as dramatic as possible, Gamble admitted. “I think we accomplished those goals. We introduced some disruptors to the Nash story arc that will raise the stakes,” he said. “This is where April really shines—a good character also has to be surprising and unpredictable at times. She understood that an effective way to achieve this is to give the character some contrasting personality traits. It starts at the writing stage. When I conceive of a character, they might be funny but cruel, kind but selfish, confident yet sensitive and vulnerable. This just keeps the viewer guessing and elevates the tension in the story you’re telling.” “It is always a pleasure working with Seth,” said Damon Dice of the director. “He is very meticulous with his craft and holds his performers to high expectations. He has always pushed me to be a better performer and has really helped me develop my craft as an actor. It is very rare that I'll be on set and get actual acting tips and instructions from a director. “My role in Privilege fit me very well! I played the character of Elijah who is a businessman. I felt very comfortable in this role because of my background in business and working in an office. I played a character that was very inquisitive and is trying to get to the bottom of the chaos and mysteries that are a part of the story's plot.” Looking back on the experience, Dice added, “Overall I had an amazing time on set. This was my first time working alongside Evan Stone, who is one of the guys in the industry I've always looked up to and admired. My co-star April Olsen was absolutely amazing and the scene we shot was one of my best performances of 2022.” The series will resume in 2023 with four additional installments.
