ASACP Returns to Colombia for LALExpo

The Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP), the nonprofit organization dedicated to online child protection, has announced it will be returning to the Latin America Adult Business Expo (LALExpo).

Founded in 1996 and supported by its sponsors and members, ASACP works with numerous international businesses, law enforcement agencies, and other digital media industry stakeholders, including LALExpo, to help keep children out of and away from adult-oriented entertainment and other inappropriate materials online.

LALExpo is scheduled to run from July 23-26 at the Pacific Valley Events Center in Cali, Colombia.

Considered the definitive B2B trade event for Central and South American digital media companies and service providers, the expo attracts a growing international and Latin American audience of 1,500 business professionals representing all aspects of the online business world — including more than 600 models and studios.

“ASACP is pleased to support LALExpo,” Tim Henning, the Executive Director of the ASACP said. “The event and the event’s promoters play a leading role in the fight against child pornography by helping educate operators about the need for legal compliance and the maintenance of industry protocols and safety standards to help avoid minors’ abuse and guarantee the rights of children and adolescents.”’

Anthony Rivera, an organizer of the event and co-founder of AJ Studios, said LALExpo provides a significant opportunity for ASACP to reach out to professional businesses operating in the Latin American and Spanish-speaking marketplaces.

“As a hub of the global camming community, Colombia is also making inroads into the broader digital media market. As such, LALExpo promotes excellence and responsibility among the companies making a living and supporting their families and themselves through technology,” Rivera stated. “This is why we support ASACP and its mission to educate and professionalize the industry in the name of protecting children.”

In addition to promotion on the LALExpo.com website as a media sponsor as well as in the show’s social media and industry forums, in the official show guide, on the show’s interview billboard, and through a complimentary table at the event’s Meet Market, ASCAP will also have a banner and booth on the show floor allowing then to reach out to adult business owners and operators face-to-face. LALExpo’s promoters have further underwritten Henning’s admission to the event and hotel accommodations.

“LALExpo promotes awareness of child safety and doing business at the highest levels of safe and responsible operation throughout Latin America and beyond,” Henning explained. “One of ASACP’s valued Sponsors, LALExpo, and its promoters take their advocacy of child safety seriously, such as through their support of ‘Fundacion Liam’ and other initiatives that go above and beyond and serve as an example for other organizations to follow.”

Henning said that this outreach is vital in LATAM, where the live cam industry is a significant driver of opportunity and prosperity for independent performers and companies of all sizes — and where both fans and the performers must be of legal age to participate.

“LALExpo’s continued support of the association sends a compelling message and helps establish its promoters among the upper echelon of industry leaders,” Henning added. “Through LALExpo’s generosity, ASACP can reach a much broader audience of frontline operators, providing them with the education and valuable free resources they need to help keep children out of and away from adult-oriented content.”

ASACP uses the financial and material support it receives to fund its initiatives, such as the internationally recognized Child Exploitation Tipline, which has processed more than 1 million reports since its inception. In addition, ASACP’s Restricted To Adults (RTA) meta-labeling system helps prevent minors’ access to adult-oriented webpages and apps. Finally, its market-specific Best Practices and universal Code of Ethics guide digital media firms toward child-safe operations.
