YNOT’s Jay Kopita Appears on “Stripped by SIA” Podcast

VANCOUVER, Canada – In the latest episode of the Stripped by SIA podcast, show host Steph Sia sits down with YNOT President and Co-Owner Jay Kopita to talk about business, innovation in the adult industry and upcoming events.

Kopita, one of the most animated executives in the adult industry, was hired back in 2000 by the parent company of YNOT as PR, editor-in-chief and trade show manager before moving into the VP, Sales role and eventually moving up the ranks to become Co-Owner and President in 2015. In conjunction with YNOT’s other co-owner, Connor Young, Kopita worked to rebuild the brand from the ground up during a tumultuous time in the industry, facing recession, profligate adult content piracy and a host of other challenges.

“It was rough times,” Kopita said.

“People that haven’t been in the industry since after 2010/2011, they didn’t experience this… loss”, Kopita added, speaking of this particularly troubling time for the adult industry, adding that tube sites and widespread piracy “changed how we did business and we had to look for other revenue streams.”

In the interview, Kopita also breaks down the many events YNOT hosts, including the YNOT Cam Awards in Hollywood, the YNOT Awards in Prague, YNOT Cammunity, YNOT Reunion and the virtual YNOT Summit, which took place earlier this month.

Sia noted that she recently attended both the YNOT Reunion and Summit and had nothing but great things to say about both events.

“It was my first adult-industry event,” Sia said of the YNOT Reunion. “I felt so welcomed as a first-timer and met so many valuable contacts within the first day. Overall, I had a great experience there.”

You can listen to the entire hour-long conversation starting today on any major podcast platform or on Anchor.

The Stripped by SIA podcast shares the lived experiences of sex workers and other adult industry professionals, aiming to destigmatize the sex industry through education and humanization. The show runs every Sunday on all major podcast platforms.
