Alison Boden Voted FSC Executive Director

The Free Speech Coalition (FSC) Board of Directors has voted to permanently hire Alison Boden as the organization’s Executive Director. Boden has been serving as interim Executive Director since January.

“I strongly believe in our industry and the vital work of FSC,” Boden said. “Over the past three months, I’ve spent time meeting with people from across the industry and am as impressed as ever with our community’s strength and resolve. But from banking discrimination to bad legislation, they’re suffering from an increasingly hostile political and legal environment. We need a strong trade organization to fight for our rights, and I intend to build FSC into a major political force.”

Boden has worked in the adult industry since 2003 in a wide variety of roles, from project manager and marketing director to software engineer and technology executive. She joined the Board of Directors in 2019 while serving as CEO of Kink.com, and was elected Board President in 2021.

After stepping in as Interim Executive Director, Boden was confronted with two major pieces of legislation dangerous to the industry and free speech more broadly — California’s SB435 and the EARN IT Act in the Senate. While SB435 was effectively killed thanks to aggressive work by the Free Speech Coalition, threats from EARN IT and other bills remain. Over the next few months, Boden will be increasing direct engagement with existing members, and recruiting new members to the fight.

“We are incredibly lucky to have someone of Alison’s stature, experience and dedication as our Executive Director,” said Board Chair Jeffrey Douglas. “We are a stronger organization for her leadership, and look forward to working alongside her in the battles ahead.”
