Commentary: Twitter Launches Twitter Blue Subscription Service

Since June, the micro blogging company Twitter has been testing a new subscription service in Canada and Australia. This new paying version of the social media platform is called Twitter Blue and is now available from your profile in the United States and New Zealand.Twitter Blue costs 2.99 USD/month and offers new interesting features such as an “undo” option that will let you recall the tweet before it is published. This editing feature seems to be the most acclaimed so far.  Other tools included will be a reader mode for tweet thread, bookmarks folders, the ability to theme your Twitter app and app icon. One of the most commented feature from the subscription pack is the “ad-free” option. The subscribers will have the possibility to read articles from participating websites who offer a special Twitter Blue version of their content free of ads. In exchange, the webmasters will receive a portion of the subscription revenues (only available on iOS for now).Surprisingly, Twitter Blue users will still be served Twitter Ads on their timeline. Twitter senior director of product, Sara Beykpour, stated: “We are not currently considering a Twitter ads-free product.”Another interesting feature for news monitoring and blogging, is the “Top article” section that offers a daily selection of the most-shared articles from the people you follow (only available on Android at the moment).Twitter Blue service also gives the possibility for the users to tailor their environment by pinning certain buttons of the app so they can personalize their surfing experience (only available on iOS).The social media platform is the most adult-friendly company among the notorious mainstream spaces; so far, with the addition of its new subscription service, Twitter hasn’t mentioned any changes related to the erotic and porn activity which is a relief for our community. Although, based on the recent account purges observed on 7Veils data management, it is important to remember that the users must own the rights for the content they share on the platform. It is also interesting to note that Twitter ads is still forbidding the promotion of any adult content or services. For any kind of help with your adult business strategies on Twitter, please email [email protected] Alex Lecomte is the managing director for 7Veils, a leading social media marketing agency for the adult industry.
