In the Groove: Lulu Chu Builds Momentum With Variety of Projects

LOS ANGELES — Lulu Chu points to one key factor in their breakout year in adult in 2021—experience. Chu may only be 20 years old, but they already have more than 125 scenes on their resume for just about every studio in Porn Valley since their debut in 2019 at 18. “After being in the industry for this long you kind of get into the groove of things and become more familiar with what you’re supposed to do and how things translate on camera,” Chu tells AVN. “So just having that experience has shown a lot of people what I’m capable of.” Among the heavyweight producers that have taken notice of Chu’s considerable talent is none other than Reality Kings, which signed Chu to a six-month exclusive contract that started on October 1. Under the agreement, the Chinese-American star will perform in an undisclosed number of scenes primarily for Reality Kings, with additional performances for sister companies Brazzers, Digital Playground, Mofos and Twistys. “We have been working closely with Lulu for some time now and the consensus has been exceptionally positive from across the production landscape from performers, directors, and our crews,” Ryan Hogan, product director for Brazzers, tells AVN. “Already having a collaborative relationship with Reality Kings, it only made sense to expand and develop her talents further. Lulu has established herself as a dynamic talent in the industry and we are looking forward to some exciting projects showcasing Lulu like her fans have never seen her before.” Chu, who is represented by East Coast Talent, says they weighed a couple contract offers in recent months but decided to go with the promotional muscle that will come with the RK deal. “We wanted something that could help me build my brand and my image and wasn’t just shoots,” Lulu explains. “At first I was very honored and I still am. I knew Brazzers and Reality Kings even when I was in high school and didn’t watch porn. … I’m just so excited, I know they’re a great company. I love all their crews that I’ve met. I’ve worked with them a lot before.” Chu says contract discussions heated up not long after they participated in a Reality Kings project in which they lived in a house with a group of other performers, participated in friendly competitions and had a lot of sex. “So there was a group of girls and guys and we went out to this house, played a bunch of really fun games and had a whole bunch of sex for four days,” says Lulu, whose work with Mindgeek includes multiple ad scenes—or promotional spots.  Once word got around the industry that Chu would be going exclusive in October, several producers scrambled to book the versatile performer before it was too late. “I just did like five scenes for PornPros, and I’ve done a bunch recently for Nubiles—at least four for them I think—and of course in the past month and a half a bunch of Vixen Media Group scenes,” Chu says matter of factly. Chu performed in the high-profile Mistress Maitland 2: Teeth—the final scene in the series for Deeper under the watchful eye of three-time Director of the Year Kayden Kross. In the encounter—which was their third scene for Deeper—the masked Chu attends a mysterious party that turns into a 4-on-1-orgy. They perform alongside the headlining Maitland Ward, April Olsen, Jasmine Wilde and Isiah Maxwell. “It was just magical,” Lulu says. “Kayden’s crew is always so kind and thoughtful.  I was just really impressed by their level of set building. The scene was kind of sex club type of thing. The room was ornate and dreamy and beautiful and the other girls were amazing.” Lulu says she meet Maitland Ward, the reigning AVN Best Leading Actress, for the first time on that set. “That was fantastic. I’ve looked up to her,” Lulu admits, adding when they first saw Maitland, “I think it was gay panic at first. She’s just a very stunning woman. She has such a powerful energy that just kind of smacks you in the face. I was like, ‘Oh gosh, do I act normal? Do I tell her I’m a big fan?’ She was really kind and we just talked before the scene. It was very casual.  We got to know each other in makeup.” It was not the first time Chu has been involved in an orgy—they also did one with Oliver Flynn, Marica Hase, Scarlit Scandal, Destiny Cruz and Mona Wales; and an all-girl with four other Asian women. “It’s a little tricky because on one hand it’s easier because the focus isn’t always on you. You pass it off on others. So it’s a matter of balance and sharing the spotlight but still keeping yourself in there and active,” Chu explains or her orgy strategy. The busy Lulu starred in their fourth scene for Deeper, released today in Muse 2 Episode 3: What We Have Lost opposite Anton Harden. The action is a continuation of the first two episodes. After being betrayed by a close friend, Lulu decides to get revenge. Lulu picks up Anton at the bar for some revenge sex that culminates with a cream-pie. “I’m so grateful to Kayden Kross and Deeper for including me in Muse 2,” Lulu says. “Words can't describe how much it meant to me to be included in such a great series, and alongside such talented, amazing people. Kayden is one of my favorite directors and working with her again in 'Muse 2' was such a special experience, and I respect her deeply.”Chu also helped usher in Vixen Media Group’s flashy new lesbian site, Slayed, performing with Kiara Cole under the direction of AVN Hall of Fame shooter Laurent Sky. “He is such a funny man, gosh, that night was so long… I think we were filming until 5 or 5:30 in the morning,” Lulu recalls with a laugh. “That was really good. I think it was one of their first scenes for Slayed and they were still figuring out how they wanted to do the scenes. There was a lot of pausing and adjusting lights but it was still a really fun shoot and it came out gorgeous. The outfits were awesome. “I loved the characters.” In the scene, Chu played the domme. Sky asked them to wear a wireless ear piece for the scene so he could give them direction in real time during the action. “It was so funny. He was telling me to ‘fuck her harder, call her a bitch,’” Chu says, adding it was such an unusual turn because they tend to be submissive. Chu liked wearing the ear piece. “It’s very clever,” Lulu admits.  Chu says they have been recognized a few times in public. “I know it’s common for a lot of the bigger girls in the industry but for me it’s always surprising. It’s like, ‘Oh, you watch? Thank you.’ It’s so odd seeing all the new girls come in because I still feel new when I get on set occasionally,” Lulu says. Chu started their porn career a few months after they turned 18—in March 2019. “I think when I first came into the industry I was interested in becoming known. I wanted to be one of the big girls. I wanted to do Vixen and Penthouse and Playboy. Now I still love working with the studios and that’s still a dream, but I don’t care so much about the accolades and the notice. I just do my job and give my best performance,” Lulu says. “I do have another anal coming up this month [with Tushy and Manuel Ferrara] and there should be a few when I work with Mindgeek.” Chu says they still are interested in doing a DP and someday wouldn’t mind a shot at directing. “If I stay in the industry I would love that,” Lulu says. “I think there needs to be more female directors. I’ve always thought of myself as fairly creative. “I think I’m pretty flexible. I really like the short days, quick to the point, get in and get out, but also I like the artistic scenes with Vixen that are longer days with higher production. I love the acting aspect and being all artsy. But I’m still cool with having sex and leaving.” Chu says they’ve shot with Brazzers bad boy Xander Corvus as well as a few scenes with Van Wylde. At press time they also had a scene coming up with Tristan Seagal in Vegas. “I love Tristan, he’s a great guy. I always talk a lot on his set. Sometimes it’s a problem. I like shooting with them. It’s a fun little crew. They always put up with me when I say stupid stuff,” Lulu jokes. In terms of what’s next for Lulu, she says one day at a time. “Oh gosh, really right now my main focus is the contract and just making sure that things go well with it,” Lulu says. “I really want everything to work and after that, I’m not really sure, I’m still debating, waiting to see if they want to do a renewal.
