With Major New Categories, AVN Opens Pre-Noms for 2022 AVN Awards

CHATSWORTH, Calif.—The summer months are now in the rearview mirror, Labor Day is upon us, Boo Berry cereal has reappeared on grocery shelves, and fantasy football leagues are being assembled.  All of which hearkens the arrival of one more time-honored hallmark of the season: the opening of pre-nominations for the AVN Awards. So without further ado, AVN Media Network today officially begins accepting pre-nom submissions for the 2022 AVN Awards, taking place January 22 and presented by MyFreeCams. Any and all legitimate adult industry professionals are invited to submit their productions, products and other work of the last year for awards consideration using the AVN Awards Pre-Nomination Site, located at: submissions.awards.avn.com If you have previously been approved to use the Pre-Nomination Site, you may use the same login to access the site for this year's submissions. If not, you must fill out the sign-up form to request access here. Pre-nominations are also now open for the 2022 GayVN Awards, and industry members may request access to submit pre-noms for that event as well using the same application form.  Among a host of refinements to this year's lineup of categories for AVN Awards contention (listed in full below), several brand new fields are being unveiled as major additions set to make their debuts at the 2022 ceremony. Beyond the already announced Mark Stone Award for Outstanding Comedy, the trans category arena has now been expanded with the creation of Best Trans Newcomer and Best Actor - Trans Role. "The trans genre has exploded in recent times, and with that has come all sorts of new opportunities for trans talent—including many more acting roles than ever before," AVN senior editor Peter Warren explained. "In following, it seemed only natural to grow our categories to reflect these advancements and pay recognition where its due." Note that as in previous years, those approved for the Pre-Nomination Site may submit a maximum of FIVE (5) pre-nominations in any one category. With that in mind, we strongly urge all those participating in the pre-nomination process to take great care in what and whom they choose to submit for consideration, limiting it to the very best of the best selections within a given category.  The Pre-Nomination Site will close promptly at midnight the night of September 30, and there will be no extension of the deadline. Also note that AVN reserves the right to make changes to AVN Awards categories at any time. Finally, please be sure to CAREFULLY read through the eligibility rules for the various types of categories in the Video & Web sector (Scene/Featurette, Movie/Limited Series, Series/Channel), available in their entirety here.
