Bloomberg: OnlyFans to Prohibit Sexually Explicit Content Starting in Oct.

According to a report published by Bloomberg, OnlyFans will “prohibit users from posting any sexually explicit conduct, starting in October.” The report added that content creators will still be permitted to post nude pictures and videos, provided the content is “consistent with OnlyFans’ policy.”

“In order to ensure the long-term sustainability of our platform, and the continue to host an inclusive community of creators and fans, we must evolve our content guidelines,” OnlyFans said, according to the report.

As has been widely reported, OnlyFans has experienced explosive growth during the pandemic, reportedly reaching over $2 billion in sales in 2020. With that growth came additional scrutiny from regulators and banks — as well as increasing pressure on the company to change its content policies and driving a recent call by members of the U.S. Congress for the platform to be investigated.

YNOT will report further on OnlyFans’ new content policy when additional details emerge.
