LOS ANGELES — It’s just before 2 on a Thursday afternoon in July, and the first thing you notice when you walk through the gates at Motley Manor is a white Lamborghini. An exotic car dealership sent the vehicle over on loan a few hours earlier, and now high-profile adult stars such as Lily Larimar and Scarlit Scandal are waiting to be photographed in the driver’s seat—or sprawled across the hood—of the $210,000 whip. Wearing lingerie, no less. Inside the 4,500-square foot compound, more than 20 models scurry from station to station. A photoshoot with AVN photographer Jeff Koga could be followed by a poolside chat with a mainstream casting director, who’s looking to fill roles for an upcoming movie. In the billiards room, Tamara Thorne—the mother of actress Bella Thorne—interviews models she’s scouting for Content X, her daughter’s new social media management and production company. In the backyard, near the tennis courts, representatives from Penthouse record Instagram reels, take photos and hand out swag. At the center of it all is Motley President and CEO Dave Rock, who may need to add “Party Planner” to his bio on the company website. Rock has hosted multiple “media nights” at his home this summer, each time transforming his crib into an adult industry wonderland. Still, rather than raucous ragers that evoke noise complaints and police sirens, the Motley gatherings are laid-back networking events that help Rock’s models score face time—and camera time—with a variety of media members, brand representatives and influencers. The ultimate goal, Rock said, is to enhance the visibility of every model on his roster. Not just within the adult industry, but the mainstream, too. “We want to put them in front of the best companies, the best brands,” Rock says. “These girls are more than porn stars. They’re capable of doing so many different things. Modeling, hosting, acting … it goes on and on. “But to get them those opportunities, they need exposure.” Wearing jeans, a fitted t-shirt and an LA Dodgers hat, Rock zig-zags throughout the property at every function, socializing as he hands out bottles of water while directing guests toward a refrigerator filled with White Claws, or to the backyard taco bar catered by a local Mexican restaurant. It’s all quite an undertaking for Rock, who says promoting models should involve more than sending out email blasts.“Seeing these girls in person and speaking with them face to face … it’s just a different experience,” Rock says. “A good example is Charly Summer. She takes amazing photos. That’s obvious. But that girl is the coolest fucking person. I could talk to her forever—forever. She got here at midnight last night and we talked until 1:30. She’s a cool, down-to-earth girl. People need to see that.” Summer, one of the most-promising newcomers in the Motley stable, said Rock’s efforts aren’t going unnoticed. “Being with Motley opens the door to so many opportunities that I never would’ve had otherwise,” she said. “Just being here, everyone accepts my life. Everyone is on the same page and striving for the same thing. We all support each other. It feels like one big family.” Here are a handful of notes, quotes and nuggets from Motley’s July event. *It would be difficult to find an adult performer who is working as hard as Lily Larimar. According to IAFD, Larimar has already appeared in more than 60 scenes in 2021, the highest number of any model on the Motley roster. “When these directors see, ‘Lily Larimar’ on their list, they know they don’t have to worry about anything,” Rock said. “She’s not going to cause them any stress.” Larimar—whose list of sexual partners was “in single digits” before entering adult—said she’s learned a thing or two in the past year about her various kinks and fetishes. “I never thought I’d like feet,” Larimar said. “I thought feet were gross. She said he seemed shocked when she told him she was 20. “He said, ‘OK, I’ve been doing this longer than you’ve been alive,’” Parker said with a laugh. “I think it’s incredible when I get to work with people who have been around for a long time, because there’s always something to learn from them.” Parker said she also looks up to legendary stars such as Nina Hartley and Julia Ann. “I watched a lot of 90s porn,” Parker said. “I still have a poster of Nina Hartley on my wall today. And I have a shirt with her on it. She’s very quirky, very different. Her performances are almost too real. I’m like ‘Should I be watching this right now? The scene should draw heavy attention, as viewers will be curious if the 4-foot-10, 85-pound Lovelock can handle what may be the most well-endowed performer in the industry. Lovelock told AVN she’s also pumped about an upcoming boy-girl scene with Jax Slayher for Cherry Pimps. “I was so excited when they contacted me, because I’m a big Cherry Pimps fan,” Lovelock said. “There are a lot of similarities to Deeper, because it’s classy porn—and not just the run-of-the-mill, step-brother, step-sister stuff.” Less than a year into her career, Lovelock has already worked with megastars such as Xander Corvus, Toni Ribas, Damon Dice and Tommy Gunn. And she’s appeared in scenes for major studios like Brazzers, Nubiles, Reality Kings, Evil Angel, Girlfriends Films and Blacked, which cast her in a scene with Isiah Maxwell titled “Freshly Squeezed.” “I fucking love Isiah Maxwell,” Lovelock said. ”His dick is insane. I spent about $2,500 on lighting and a GH4 (camera). While most people were shooting stuff on their cell phone, I was going high-level. I’m very detail-oriented. That helped a lot.” Lou said her foray into the adult industry has been eye-opening. She just wishes she’d jumped in sooner. “The three shoots I’ve done have been fantastic,” she said. “It’s ridiculous how much easier it is than having to do everything myself. I get that marketing boost from it. I wish I’d started it sooner.” Lou said signing with Motley has made her transition smooth. “They seem very serious about working and making money,” she said. “For me, just working independently … I’ve wanted to be the best I can be. I pay my taxes. This is my career and I treat it as such. Motley has the same attitude. They’re like, ‘This is your career. We’re not just fucking around with porn.’” *One of the biggest attention-getters at the Motley event was Kylie Rocket, who looked absolutely striking with wavy, long black hair and a gorgeous tan she showed off during a photoshoot with AVN’s Jeff Koga before recording footage for Penthouse. A Miami native, Rocket was excited to reveal that she and Scandal had inked deals with Content X a few days earlier. Megastar Abella Danger became the first adult performer to join Content X when she signed a contract months ago. The company manages the social media accounts of influencers, markets them and also produces content for them to share. “They make you feel like such a star,” Rocket said. “We had shoots with three different outfits, including two with cars, a McLaren and a Rolls Royce. I had so much fun.” Rocket has logged nearly 120 scenes since entering the industry in late 2019. She’s said she’s particularly proud of her performance with Mick Blue in “Impulse,” which was released in January. “It was probably one of the best things I’ve ever done,” Rocket said. “The sex part was literally just one take.” Rocket said her chemistry with Blue is what took the scene to the next level. In fact, she enjoys working with the Austrian heartthrob so much that she cheated a bit to ensure they would be paired together in Jacky St. James’ series, “Blind Date.” “They make you list five guys, in order, that you want to work with,” Rocket said, “so I put Mick’s name in the box for No. 1 and No. 2. I was a little worried, because I wasn’t sure I’d get him, and you don’t know who it’s going to be until the moment it’s time to fuck. I’m like, ‘I have to prepare myself. I’ve never had someone like that in my life before.” *Fast-ascending newcomer Charly Summer said her first few months in the adult industry have convinced her that porn is her calling—so much so that she’s decided to relocate from her native Florida and establish a permanent residence in Los Angeles. “I’m so deep into it now, I might as well hit ‘full send,’” she said. “One time I asked a performer friend how he liked his job. And he said, ‘My worst day is better than people’s best day.’ I think that’s the truth. “I love showing up on set everyday. I love getting my makeup done. I love having new characters that I get to portray. I like reading scripts. I like meeting new performers every day. We shoot in some of the most beautiful places.” Summer said porn entered her life a pivotal moment when her life lacked direction. “I was down,” Summer said. "I felt like I didn’t have much of a purpose. If I’m not working toward something and achieving something and progressing, I just get depressed. I just felt so young to not be doing anything with myself. I’m a passionate person. I like to create. It’s an outlet for me.” Summer took pride in a recent girl-girl scene with Kenzie Anne that appears on Kenzieland.com. She said she came up with the concept for the shoot, helped pick out the schoolgirl outfits and had input in the flow of the scene, which was shot by Halston. “To see the final product was so fulfilling, so amazing,” she said. Summer has also enjoyed the side of the business many performers never consider when entering the industry: acting. She said it’s one of the many traits that are important if one wants to flourish in adult.
