Fresh Faces: Ava Madison

LOS ANGELES—Self-described “outdoorsy, tomboy, down to earth, fun-loving stoner chick,” Ava Madison had a lifelong itch that only got itchier as she got older. “I thought about it and talked about it for a long time, since I was like 16,” she told AVN. The itch, of course, was sexual and exhibitionist in nature and, like a lot of Fresh Faces, involved a stubborn fascination with adult entertainment. Native of a small Bay Area town called Gilroy, the garlic capital of the world, Ava was always a good student academically (“Honor roll and all that stuff.”). A child of the suburbs, she “grew up very fortunate.” Her dad is a firefighter. Her mom is a teacher. They divorced when Ava was 12. “Probably soon after that I started to go a little crazy,” she recalled. Not too crazy but acting-out crazy. She was staying moistly with her father, who worked all the time. “The problem was that when I got to high school, I had a lot of freedom and started hanging out with older people,” she explained. “Like, when I was 14, I dated a 22-year-old.” Sexually promiscuous, with a bit of a reputation, she would hang at school out with the athletes— “some soccer girls and some field hockey girls”—and the stoner dudes. She decided to forego graduation and tested for her GED at the beginning of her senior year. She passed and was free, and within a few short years, at the age of 20, she moved south to the big city.  “The reason I originally moved to Los Angeles was to be here for my sister, who was six months pregnant with my niece at the time,” she said. “I basically took on the role of mommy number two because my sister had an unsupportive, neglectful, absent partner.” She got quick work at a strip club, where the late-night shifts allowed her to help care for her niece during the day while assisting her sister financially. Mostly she worked as a waitress or behind the bar but would also dance occasionally for regulars or on a weekend night. The way she describes it, the club was not exactly an upper-echelon joint, but she stayed for three years. And there was still that itch waiting to be scratched. With idols like Riley Reid, Dani Daniels, and Kendra Lust as inspiration, she was curious but ill informed. “I was naive and didn't have any information and didn't know what I was doing,” she said. After a mistaken episode involving Craigslist and meeting someone over an ad who purported to be from the industry, she was turned off. She tried FanCentro for a bit, but then the pandemic hit, and the club shut down. By this time, she also had a day job that paid good money, but once Covid took hold that old idea reared its head again. “I kept thinking about it, telling myself, ‘I want to do this, I want to do this.’ I needed to because I didn’t want to regret not doing it. And I'm only getting older. I feel ready now. It’s been a year since I stopped drinking and I feel like I'm in the best mindset.” The stage was set but she still needed a legit way in, and that’s when sensible Ava took charge. “I had idolized porn stars for a long time, so I researched who they had for their agents,” she said.  When she spoke with Sandra McCarthy from OC Modeling, something clicked. “We had a three-hour phone conversation,” said Ava. “After that, I was like, ‘I like her. I like what she has to say, she represents some great girls, and I am ready to go for it.’ So, I went for it.” She shot her first scene in late February, for NetVideoGirls, and since then has shot 12 more for that studio and others. “It's been really good so far,” she said. “I don't have anything bad to say about anyone.” In fact, she had great things to say about Alex Jett, with whom she did a VR scene. “I really liked him,” she said. “He's really nerdy and small but has a huge cock, and it was really cool.” As far as boundaries go, Ava is into BDSM lite. “I like to be dominated and I like to dominate, especially women,” she said. That last desire is one Ava wants to fulfill more frequently as her career unfolds. “I want to have more [sexual] experiences with women, and I want to do more girl/girl scenes. I realized it's not as popular, but I'm just hoping to meet girls and film content.” In her personal life, Ava enjoys many pursuits, including cannabis, the “healing herb,” about which she is “a huge advocate” and an influencer of sorts. “I love being a part of the cannabis community,” she said, extending an irresistible invitation to all cannafans. “People are welcome to join me live every Tuesday on Cannabis Capital’s twitch titled, “Stoner Diary w/NiceNugs.” Other lifelong passions include all types and genres of music (“Especially music that makes you feel.”), and the environment, in support of which Ava has done monthly beach or forest trash pickups since she was 16. “I’m also a sun worshiper,” she added. “Every morning I try to sit in the sun for at least 20 minutes before looking at a screen. I will forever chase sunsets and have full moon parties!” As to whether she is a lifer or just passing through the industry, Ava responds instantly, “I’m a lifer! I want to build a brand and a career. This isn't a quick in and out, let's make some fast money thing for me. I knew jumping in that this is what I want. I mean, just look at how many successful women there are in this industry. It's really inspiring. You really can start an entire production company yourself. “But another reason I feel like this industry is for me is because I have finally found a safe place for me to express, explore, and share myself sexually. Knowing I can brighten someone’s day in any way makes me smile. I’m here for all the lonely boys, weirdos, and perverts because I’m right there with them!” Photography by @br.yanb (1-4; 6-7) & @boudoirbypriscilla (5)
