Alec Mapa & Sherry Vine to Co-Host 2021 GayVN Awards

LOS ANGELES—AVN Media Network is pleased to announce Alec Mapa and Sherry Vine will co-host the 2021 GayVN Awards Show, presented by Chaturbate. The live-streamed broadcast is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. on Monday, January 18 on GayVNStars.com. The show is free to watch with a GayVN Stars account; sign up is free. “We’re thrilled to have the legendary Sherry Vine and the incomparable Alec Mapa co-host this historic edition of the GayVN Awards Show that is going all-digital this year for the first time,” said AVN Media Network CEO Tony Rios. “We can’t wait to celebrate the best of the best of the past year in gay porn with these two multi-talented entertainers.” Alec and Sherry will be joined on stage throughout the night by the official 2021 GayVN Awards Trophy Boys—Damien Ellis, Eli Bennet, Jay Seabrook, Ray Dexter and Jake Waters. They will be revealing the winners in all 29 GayVN Awards categories—15 of which are being voted on by the fans. A drag icon, Sherry Vine will grace the GayVN stage with almost 30 years of entertainment excellence on her resume. The fabulous host of “She’s Living For This”—now on Hulu—tours the world, singing and doing comedy when she isn’t appearing in movies and TV shows. Sherry is a founding member of Theatre Couture and is an OG on YouTube, where her video parodies have been viewed more than 19 million times Recently, she moved to LA where she can be seen as Blanche in “Golden Girlz Live” and “Battle of The Bitches.” Sherry is currently touring her new one “woman” show “Hollywood & Vine.” This year will mark the third straight year that Mapa has brought his effervescent personality to gay porn’s biggest night. He co-hosted last year with Nicole Byer and in 2019 with Shangela. A all-time GayVN great, Alec also hosted the show in 2010 and 2009. Ellen Degeneres has called Mapa “smart, hilarious and funny,” while Variety has said, “Alec Mapa is a freak. No one should be this talented.”  A masterful live performer, seasoned actor and comedian, Mapa has entertained audiences worldwide in every imaginable medium. Currently, he has a recurring role as Animal Vegetable Mineral Man on the hit series Doom Patrol now streaming on DC Universe. Alec stars opposite Danny Trejo in Grand Daddy Day Care and co-stars with Ellen Burstyn in the highly-anticipated comedy film A Very Senior High.  His comedy special Alec Mapa: Baby Daddy premiered on Showtime in 2015. Alec rose to prominence on Broadway in the Tony Award-winning production of M. Butterfly. He went on to guest star on more than 40 television series, including Alias, Friends, Roseanne, Seinfeld, and NYPD Blue. Mapa is also recognized leader in promoting equal rights for the LGBT community, receiving the prestigious Davidson Valentini GLAAD Award in 2005.
