Cam_Girlfriend Draws Mainstream Film Festival Noms

TORONTO – Camming Life has announced that its comedy web series Cam_Girlfriend has been nominated for multiple awards from online film festivals, including nominations for Best Comedy and Dynamic Duo (Lily LaBeau & Dave Keystone) at the NYC Web Fest and Best Writing (Comedy) and Best Ensemble (Comedy) by the Rio Webfest.

“It sounds cliché, but it’s really an honor to be nominated, especially among so many of our peers,” said the producers of Cam_Girlfriend in the statement issued Wednesday. “We are so proud of the series and everyone’s amazing work, both in front and behind the camera.”

“We are thrilled that Cam_Girlfriend, a show about camming, is recognized on such a global stage,” added Shirley Lara, Chief Operating Officer for Chaturbate. “It’s great to see a web series about the adult industry nominated along with so many other entertaining shows,” states.”

Rio Webfest is an international festival that recognizes the best online content from web series, vlogs, web pilots, and more. With over 60 categories, Rio Webfest winners are awarded with personalized trophies called “ZÉ”, the Brazilian version of the Oscars. The winners will be announced on November 11-14 at the live festival in Rio. Fans can vote for Cam_Girlfriend in the Popular Vote category here.

NYC Web Fest “brings together a diverse group of people from around the world to showcase the best of the web,” Camming Life said in its announcement. “The festival strives to be the premier home for digital producers on an international level.”

NYC Web Fest has 20 different award categories. The winners will be announced on November 13-15 during the virtual festival.

Cam_Girlfriend is a 10 episode comedy series that follows the life of a cam girl, Chloe, who is struggling to juggle her relationship with her boyfriend and her dedicated camming fans. Each episode uncovers a new comedic element of what a cam girl goes through in their day-to-day and lets the public see behind the curtain of the internet’s hottest trend. The comedic cinematic sensation explores romance, technology, live connectivity, and love.

CAMGF1 Productions is the company behind Cam_Girlfriend. The series was created by Ethan Cole; directed by Daniel AM Rosenberg; written by Ethan Cole and Michael Goldlist and produced by Jason Kennedy and Daniel AM Rosenberg. The series was made possible thanks to the Independent Production Fund.
