What Inspired Erik Everhard’s Self-Help Book for Men? Market Need

LOS ANGELES – Adult performer and intimacy coach Erik Everhard has released his first book, the prolific adult entertainment star announced Thursday. Titled Unleash Your Sexual Superpowers: A Porn Star’s Guide to Sexual Mastery, the book “aims to be a source and ultimate guide for men to become skilled and confident lovers,” according to Everhard’s announcement.

Everhard told YNOT that the initial inspiration to write the book came about six years ago.

“There were a couple of different civilian girls I was sleeping with in Los Angeles at the time, and they would all lament at how bad it was out there in the real world as far as sexuality went,” Everhard said. “So, they would always say that I needed to write a book, or at least teach their ex-boyfriends the techniques that I was using on them. That was what initially planted the seed.”

Everhard added that the training he has received which enabled him to conceive and write the book goes back further still.

“I started studying Neuro-Linguistic Programming (“NLP”) starting in 2010,” Everhard explained. “I was doing it for my own personal growth, but many of the different coaches that I met and interacted with over the years would always say that I had a gift for coaching people. So, in the end it was really just an amalgamation of all the things that I had learned over the past decades.”

The book benefits from his background and a perspective built by his “coaching and NLP background intersecting with my boots on the ground sexual knowledge from having been one of the top porno actors in the business,” Everhard said.

“As an actor, I had to learn all the mental techniques and psychological hacks that would allow me to operate on such a high level,” Everhard added. “And having been one of the few actors who has never taken Viagra or been chemically ‘enhanced,’ the things that I would employ mentally really worked. And worked very well.”

Finally, Everhard added, writing the book was “all about a renewed sense of purpose.”

“It’s about giving back to society in a way that was much bigger than me,” Everhard told YNOT. “When you look at the state of men and masculinity these days, there really is a crisis going on. If there wasn’t, then why would there suddenly be all these men out there who require Viagra and god knows what else just to have sex in private with their wives or girlfriends?”

This crisis gave Everhard a sense of mission in writing the book, he explained.

“My mission is to help men by teaching them elite level sexual skills to have confidence with women,”  Everhard said. “What I teach isn’t theory, but no-bullshit, 100% actionable advice that I was privy to learning in the most sexually demanding of all environments.”

Everhard said his intimacy coaching business “formed as an extension of writing the book,” adding that “the more I get people in front of me one on one, the more change I can affect.”

Asked what prospective readers might find surprising about the book, Everhard cited “just how actionable the material is.”

“This isn’t some fluff theory that most sex coaches wax poetic about,” Everhard said. “Most of those coaches, I’m willing to bet, have hardly ever been laid. If I’m getting heart surgery done, I don’t want the PHD Doctor who’s read 1000 books on surgery. I want the doctor who’s done 1000 surgeries! This is where my material differs and where I can add the most value to guys out there. I’ve lived and experienced every situation imaginable, and I’ve come out on top every time.”

“They say that success leaves clues,” Everhard mused. “Well, I’ve left a lot of clues and even more success.”
