Roxana Chirila Named Co-Owner of AWSummit

MAMAIA, Romania—This year's AWSummit has been postponed, and that's led to some changes in the structure of parent company AWMedia. In order to dedicate greater focus to other projects and services, AWMedia owner Alexandru Gheorghe said, AWSummit has become its own standalone company, and event director Roxana Chirila has been appointed its CEO and co-owner. Chirila was in charge of the successful 2019 show, and worked hard to prepare for AWSummit 2020. She also conceived the concept of AWMeetup, which reportedly saw great success as well. She will oversee the 2021 show, the last one in Mamaia, currently scheduled for June 7-10, after which the event will move to Bucharest in 2022. "I'm honored to bring Roxana to the owner side of AWSummit," said Gheorghe. "I’m looking forward to taking full responsibility for the AWSummit show that has been so important for our industry for over seven years," Chirila commented. "I’m looking forward to leading our last show in Mamaia and to start the progress in moving AWSummit to Bucharest for 2022.
