FSC Emergency Fund Update: Donations Have 'Slowed Considerably'

CHATSWORTH, Calif.—The Free Speech Coalition (FSC) issued an update Tuesday afternoon on the disbursement of its Emergency Fund established to aid adult industry talent and crew unable to work due to the COVID-19 crisis.  Noting that it has disbursed $120,000 of the $146,000 raised thus far, the organization reported that donations to the Fund have "slowed considerably" and cautioned, "At the current rate, we won't be able to reopen the application until the end of summer. Please continue to help us raise more money so that we can reopen the application sooner and help more people." The full update follows: To date, we have contacted 400 people, each eligible to receive a $300 check from the FSC Emergency Fund. Most have responded to confirm their payment information and received their checks. However, some have not yet responded. By May 22, we will have contacted all remaining eligible applicants to confirm their payment information. If you have applied and you meet the eligibility criteria, please be patient. If you confirm your payment information, you will receive a check. If you do not meet the eligibility criteria, we will email you individually to let you know. Either way, if you have applied to the fund, please add [email protected] and [email protected] to your email contacts to better ensure that our emails will go to your inbox not your spam folder. On June 1, we will return any unclaimed funds back to the Emergency Fund for distribution in the next round. Fundraising has slowed considerably. At the current rate, we won’t be able to reopen the application until the end of the summer. Please continue to help us raise more money so that we can reopen the application sooner and help more people. If you have any questions, please email [email protected].
