New Erika Lust Film Shot Entirely In Lockdown-Friendly Conditions

LOS ANGELES—With the adult industry, like much of the world, on hold during the global coronavirus pandemic, Barcelona-based porn producer/director Erika Lust has a new film set for release this week — a production that was completed without breaking stay-at-home orders or lockdown guidelines. Lust’s new documentary, Sex and Love in the Time of Quarantine was shot by the performers featured in the film themselves, in their own homes, as they record their own methods of maintaining intimacy and sexuality, or just passing the time, as they wait out the pandemic indoors. “I want to give this film to everyone locked in their homes around the world, to watch and to be inspired by how others are spending their quarantine,” Lust wrote on her XConfessions.com site. The director assembled and edited the footage from her own home in Barcelona, Spain — a country hard-hit by the pandemic and under strict lockdown rules. The film will be released online, for free, on Thursday, April 16. Paid subscribers can access full versions of the movie’s sex scenes starting on April 23.  According to an advance decsription by Forbes.com, performers include King Noire and Jet Setting Jasmine in their Florida abode, playing “a kinky game of Heads or Tails,” as well as the couple calling themselves My Sweet Apple — based in Lust’s home base of Barcelona — enjoying “a sexy version of Twister.” Self-described “sex hacking expert” Kenneth Play appears in self-isolation from his New York home, getting through the quarantine by watching porn, while in Los Angeles, three-time AVN Award-winner Casey Calvert “plays a solo game of spin the bottle to choose which sex toy to try next,” according to the Forbes.com account. Quarantine-themed porn has become quickly popular. According to a Forbes count, Pornhub alone now features 5,273 clips with “quarantine” in the title, and more than 2,000 including the word “coronavirus.”  Lust said on her site that the inspiration for the film was inspired by her own “confession.” “I imagine an invisible piece of string connecting us all. During sleepless nights I run through different scenes in my head, tricking my self into a sex roulette until I enter my dreams where my pleasure is no longer restricted by social distancing,” she wrote.
