Still Truckin': Ed Powers Returns With GrandpaEdPowers.com

CHATSWORTH, Calif.—He may have reached retirement age, but that's not stopping AVN Hall of Famer Ed Powers, who appeared at the 2020 AVN Adult Entertainment Expo to announce that he is back on the prowl with brand-new website and series GrandpaEdPowers.com. The 65-year-old Brooklyn export and veteran of over 800 movies still has the same sarcastic sense of humor and verbiage that has kept him in the spotlight, on and off, since 1988. Fresh and barely hours out of shooting the first scene for the new line, Powers was ecstatic. “Even though a lot of people have tried to put their feet in my shoes, I’m now in a different pair of running shoes, breaking through the POV, the whole gonzo thing I have done in the past—pretty much one of the first if not the first—I am now at the crossroads of being 65 years old and on Medicare and facing Social Security, and realizing that hey, my fans out there are the same age and waiting for me to come back as Grandpa Ed. Walking through this 2020 convention, people are flocking towards me telling me that I was their inspiration.” Powers started out his newest series with an ambitious bang the first night of the expo. “Yesterday I did a three-way with Tucker Stevens and Lulu Chu, and Lulu got me to pop, and then I didn’t expect it, but Tucker got me to pop again. Powers unveiled the new venture at the 101 Modeling booth, which shared its space with East Coast-based AMA Modeling, whose founder and owner Brian Berke commented, “I’ve known Ed for many, many years. I’ve booked many of his debutantes—he is like a mentor to me. We came up with this idea together about doing GrandpaEdPowers.com. In the first scene we wanted to use two girls who would fit perfectly with Ed and his crazy personality, and Tucker and Lulu were excellent. After this, Ed will be coming to Florida once a month to shoot brand-new, newer girls, and girls who are 'first-time' for Ed." Powers is at once nostalgic and forward-looking, and very proud of his accomplishments. “Even if you were born yesterday, the roots of what is happening in the industry—well, a lot of it comes from me. I started basically in 1988 when I was putting together the Bus Stop Tales, which came out in 1990, and when I helped Jamie Gillis put out his On the Prowl series after BST began. Since then I have made about 800 movies, including 383 Dirty Debutantes, 14 Bus Stop Tales, series like Lovin Spoonfuls, Cockless, Real Naturals, Dirty Dancers, New Ends, Dawn of the Debutantes, Deep Inside Dirty Debutantes, Dirtier Debutantes, Global Warming Debutantes, More Black Debutantes, Touch and Feety, many different individual movies for my company, 4-Play Video, and others. “I wanted to accept who and what I am and come into the business knowing that the older guy is represented,” Powers continued, “and if girls get off on me, and with me, the fans will know that they are getting off on you, too, vicariously through me because I am your conduit—not your condom—your conduit. I will be making a limited number of DVDs, and this new series will be streamed on GrandpaEdPowers.com. I will still be making Dirty Debutantes for my EdPowers.com.”
