Katsuni Launches Kickstarter for English Version of Book

LOS ANGELES—Retired AVN Hall of Fame performer Katsuni, aka Celine Tran, has launched a Kickstarter campaign for the English version of her autobiography. Originally published by Fayard Editions in March 2018, the French title of the book is "Ne dis pas que tu aimes ça,” which translated means “Don't tell you like it.” The French-Vietnamese star, who was a Digital Playground contract girl during the mid-2000s, won 38 international awards during her 12-year career that spanned from 2002-2013, performing in more than 400 adult films. She is the only three-time winner of AVN Female Foreign Performer of the Year (2005-07). Tran made a video explaining the campaign. “I feel ready to share my story with you,” Tran says in the three-minute clip. “It’s been very successful in France and now it’s time to have the translation in English.” She continues, “It’s not a book about porn. It’s a book about the story of a porn star from when she was a kid until today, which means it’s very, very intimate. It’s about what I felt in my body, in my mind. How did I feel when I did my very first scene? How did I start and why?  “So many people ask me this question, ‘Why did you make such a choice? Is it even a real choice? Did you enjoy doing it? Is it possible to really have pleasure on set? How did it work with your family? How did it work with your boyfriend? Is it possible to retire? How is life after porn? Is there a life after porn?’ “So I answer all these questions in this book.” Trans says the budget is to help offset the cost of translation and printing, among other costs. Today Tran works in her native France as an author and wellness coach; she is a certified Hypnosis Practitioner, specializing in Sport & Performance in addition to being certified in Yoga, wellness massages and traditional Thaï Yoga massage.
