Pineapple Support Inaugurates Performer Support Group In LA

Pineapple Support, the adult industry’s leading mental health resource, will host an eight-week adult performer "process group" in West Hollywood, Los Angeles. Beginning on Monday, February 3, the weekly support group will focus on performer well-being and be facilitated by sex therapist Dr. Amie Harwick. The group sessions will begin on Monday, February 3, at Noon PST. The eight-week course will run each Monday and begin at Noon PST each time. To reserve a place in the group, click here. The group will encourage sex workers to process any emotional struggles they may experience, as well as provide an opportunity to gain insight into their behaviors and feelings. Areas that may be processed include family relationships, traumatic incidents, grief issues, relapse triggers and stressful situations, among others. “The group will be a safe and confidential space that will serve to allow clients to feel seen and supported by others with similar life experiences as well as providing support, empathy and referrals when needed,” said Pineapple Support founder Leya Tanit. “I’m extremely thankful to Dr. Amie Harwick for leading this support group and I know the value she will bring to all the sex workers taking part.” Pineapple Support was founded in 2018 by British performer Leya Tanit, in response to losses in the adult industry from depression and other mental illnesses. The organisation, which is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit in the United States and a registered charity in the UK, has so far connected over seven hundred adult performers to mental health services, including free and low-cost, therapy, counseling and emotional support.
