Daniel Metcalf PR Rebrands, Expands as Terra Image Management

LOS ANGELES—Daniel Metcalf Public Relations is rebranding and expanding as Terra Image Management. Refining its mission from the micro to the macro, this new entity is being formed to better serve the evolving marketing needs of clients while more broadly advocating for oneness and equality in the face of the twin global crises of income disparity and climate change. "This venture has been nearly a year in the making," revealed Daniel Metcalf. "An early inspiration was an essay by Kate Aronoff which appeared in The Intercept, Could a Green New Deal Make Us Happier People? Noting the statistical links between de-carbonized societies, contentment, and well-being found in the U.N. Happiness Report, she argued unambiguously that pleasure—pleasure for the body, for the soul—is more readily attainable in progressive societies that address climate issues and economic fairness. As Aronoff noted, "provided we’re not filling up a gas tank to get to them, our favorite creature comforts—socialization, sex, and sleep—simply aren’t carbon-intensive." With this essay, Aronoff joined eco-influencers like Tim Jackson, Juliet Schor, André Gorz, and others in celebrating what Daniel Aldana Cohen calls 50 Shades of Low-Carbon Leisure—a heady axiom the author boils down to catchy aphorisms like "A condom is better than a steak—for the environment, and for the body." For Metcalf, "given our position and experience in serving the finest personalities and most innovative companies in the sexual wellness, ambient music, medicinal cannabis, and cryptocurrency spaces, we're in a unique position to advocate for the same 'creature comforts' Aronoff cites."     Terra Image Management will serve clientele by researching appropriate networks, developing overall content strategies, creating fresh content, engaging audiences and monitoring impact by continually analyzing, adapting and improving integrated communication efforts. Daniel Metcalf has been working in adult circles for the past 30 years, switching gears to do marketing and publicity in 2000. He focused on writing and editorial concerns for his first ten years as an industry magazine editor. An early proponent of alternative financial platforms and an award-winning journalist, screenwriter, and publicist, Metcalf has written extensively about virtual currencies, cryptocurrencies, and central bank digital currency since 2017. As the adult space continues to move away from physical media in favor of web-exclusive content and pleasure products, Metcalf believes some hurdles remain. "The adult industry, in particular, has been slow to embrace crypto and blockchain-based payment systems. This may be problematic, particularly as the current administration continues to front-load our courts with conservative, far-right judges. Last year, performers who relied on PayPal to deliver their earnings were severely affected by its decision to stop servicing certain sectors of the industry. Banks can still arbitrarily close a performer's account if they feel stigmatized by the association with adult content, and we can expect to see more fiat institutions follow suit. I'm working diligently to expand the tech side of what we do in this arena, as the need for this industry to look out for the most vulnerable among us—the unbanked—has never been greater.
