Finding Mindyland: Princess Mindy Shakes Up AVN Stars

Princess Mindy may be the only fem-dom specialist on the internet who will bust your balls and then send you a custom Christmas ornament. Whether she’s calling guys “bozo,” flipping them off or telling them to pay her bills, Princess Mindy admits she always had a knack for taking charge. “Even when I was really young and in high school I just always had kind of a—not a sassy personality—but sort of cunning, quick and maybe a little more dominate personality than most women,” Princess Mindy tells AVN. Now she brings that self-confidence to the growing adult entertainment community of AVN Stars, where at press time she has skyrocketed to the No. 2-ranked model on the entire platform. Her rapid ascent is even more impressive considering she only joined in late July. “AVN Stars has been such a breath of fresh air in the business,” Princess Mindy says. “I was actually looking for a new platform to do something different on but I couldn’t find anything and I was considering doing webcam again. I wanted to do something different other than clips and Twitter. “And then I went to AVN.com and saw AVN Stars and it was from that moment on I’ve been using it.” The Canadian seductress points to several factors that have contributed to her success. “It’s a combination of things. First, I had a following already. So when I was able to stop focusing on massive clip production I was able to go back to being how I was pre-clip days, which was really more interaction-focused,” she explains. “I’ve been focusing on my relationships with my slaves—or my fans—and really trying to engage with them and give them as much one-on-one interaction as I can. “I prefer that I’m able to be myself rather than performing in a clip. Because depending on the fetish it may not be something that you actually like… So that is No. 1. And No. 2, I’ve just had good vibes with AVN.” Just one glance through Princess Mindy’s AVN Stars timeline shows why she has become a top draw, offering an entertaining blend of fem-dom content mixed with glimpses of her activities when she’s not in work mode. One mid-October post saw Princess Mindy teasing her subscribers with jeans fetish play. In a lifestyle post, Princess Mindy also shared footage of how she stays in tip-top shape. Viewers saw a brief clip of her jogging down a woodsy road—she reveals she likes doing sprints in the morning. Other posts showed her fresh pedicure and her blinged-out ice skates. Indeed, what started out as an impromptu side hustle on NiteFlirt in 2005 turned into a lucrative career for Princess Mindy, who had a job in senior tech support before finding adult work. “I was just looking for a little bit of shopping and party money,” Princess Mindy recalls. “My goals were just to be able to freely party on the weekend and look good doing it.” On her first day on that platform, one customer asked her to “humiliate” him. “I was scared to do it, but then I thought, well he’s paying me I should just do it. And then like magic I thought, ‘This was so much fun. I love this,’” Princess Mindy says. “So that really just popped the door open. “… It was the first time that these personality traits were celebrated and wanted as opposed to conventional worlds where women were expected to be polite or maybe a little more submissive in nature.” Princess Mindy doesn’t consider herself a dominatrix, per se—“not that there is anything wrong with that”—but more like “the mean neighbor next door you might like.” She says some of her fans have been following her for more than 13 years. “They’ve watched me grow,” she says, noting she receives Christmas presents and birthday tributes now without asking. A vegan for the past four years—and vegetarian for two years before that—Princess Mindy  used to film YouTube videos of herself eating various vegan dishes at restaurants. She chose the vegan lifestyle because “the No. 1 thing people know about me is I’m an animal rights activist.” “It was an easy switch for the environment and for my health,” she says. “I’ve aged backwards and I don’t get sick anymore; my skin is amazing. It was one of the best decisions I could’ve made for myself.” She became interested in activism because “as a child my family did a lot of charity.” “We would make a lot of donations and I’ve done so for a long, long time,” Mindy says. “Even as a kid I didn’t want to eat meat. I barely ate meat and drank milk.” She doesn’t know exactly from where her desire to give back to her community originates. “I just know I’ve had an undeniable—or some sensation or tug in my gut—that won’t let me not help or do something that I can,” Mindy says. “The first time I remember that was when I was 4 and I was riding my tricycle and I ran over a baby bird. It hurt me…When you do something and see the effect you have on something else when you’re so young. It did something to me.” Princess Mindy taught herself various computer programming techniques—she can script, hack and perform SEO functions. “Basically after high school I was doing wannabe hacking, shutting down chatrooms, using scripts and bots. I developed a whole bunch of computers skills I had no idea were of any value,” she says. She also is musically inclined; Mindy grew up playing the organ, clarinet and piano and started taking weekly violin lessons again over the summer. “I bought a violin and I assumed that I could learn by myself because I had that ability to teach myself to play music before and I thought it would be the same,” Mindy says. “But the violin is a little harder than the piano.” Whether it’s playing an instrument or experimenting with crafts, Mindy loves being creative. She posted a short clip of custom picture frames she decorated. “The 3 week later craft update. These are just frames from Michael’s and honestly I have no idea what gets into me. I wake up and decide to start doing something different and I do it,” she wrote in October. “Speaking of that if you used to watch my YouTube channel you know I started playing the violin and maybe middle of winter I will have a violin playing update video ... do we like when I share these random personal things or should I just keep it biz only?” “... either way I’m gonna update maybe one more time about the frames because now I’m gonna go and create the art for the frames as well. What am I gonna do with them? I have no idea it was just for fun.” Princess Mindy concludes, “I’m a creative type I would say. It just comes in bursts. I’m always on a path of creation and it’s never the same thing.”
