Mile High Media Puts the XXX in Xmas

Greenwood’s movie, A Lesbian Christmas Story, is a tribute to one of his favorite filmmakers: indie icon John Waters. Jackie Beat—an adult screenwriter and drag queen who bears more than a slight resemblance to Divine—plays the mother of a clan of misfits and Aiden Ashley is her daughter. They must feign normalcy in front of their wealthy visiting aunt (Silvia Saige), but these desperate characters can’t possibly keep it together. David Lord plays the drunken father who brings home Auntie’s gold-digging ex-lover (Charlotte Stokely). And to top it off, there’s a snowstorm, which traps everyone together. Above, Roky Emerson, Silvia Saige, Aiden Ashley, Jackie Beat and Joanna Angel in A Lesbian Christmas Story (Sweetheart Video/Mile High Media) Greenwood says when it comes to John Waters, “People love it or hate it. There’s nothing in between. … If you look at the scene of Charlotte Stokely on the bed and she says, ‘Throw me outside in a storm of love,’ it’s a typical over-the-top John Waters scenes. “Charlotte and Aiden watched a couple of John Waters movies two days before they shoot this movie. Charlotte asked me, ‘Do you want me to do a sex scene lthe same as John Waters?’ And I said, ‘No I want them to be kind of sexy, not over the top and totally crazy. A little bit crazy, but not too much.’” But there are some crazy moments, including references to foot fetishes, eggs and a nod to the “Not on Christmas” scene from Female Trouble. Clockwise from top left, Jaclyn Taylor, Stirling Cooper, Scarlit Scandal, Small Hands, Jane Wilde and Lucas Frost in Family Holiday 3 (Sweet Sinner/Mile High Media) St. James is offering fans the next volume in her Family Holiday series, and apparently the third time is the charm. “Every year I've shot a Christmas movie it was hell—until this year,” the director says. “It is a lot of wrangling of talent, a lot of wardrobes and props. … Basically it's a game of trying to re-create the magic of Christmas as frugally as possible.” This year, however, “was lovely” and she calls Family Holiday 3 her best holiday movie yet. “The talent were so focused and prepared. We all had fun decorating the tree before the shoot. There was a lot of laughter and just a general "family" vibe among everyone.” Plus, she adds, adult director (and famed curmudgeon) Mike Quasar shot camera, “and nothing screams ‘the holidays’ like having your crazy uncle along for the ride.”
