Adult Empire Names Its Porn Star of the Year Finalists for 2019

PITTSBURGH, PA—There's a good reason the months of December and January are known as "awards season"—and in keeping with that sobriquet, Adult Empire's second "Porn Star of the Year" award will be given out later this month—but for now, it has announced the finalists for that award. Four popular stars will vie for the prize: Autumn Falls, Aubrey Kate, Maitland Ward and Angela White. Inaugurated in 2018, the yearly honor is given to the porn star “who most shaped the world of porn in a given year,” according to the company. “We regard the Porn Star of the Year winner as a reflection of the current state of adult entertainment at its best,” said Madison Greene, an Adult Empire company representative. “It is intended as a parallel to Time magazine’s 'Person of the Year' prize. We were very pleased with the success of last year’s announcement, so this year we decided to create a pool of finalists to spotlight even more of the industry’s talent.” In another change from 2018, the prize will also come with a physical award statuette, which Adult Empire will send to the winner following the announcement. Adult Empire was enthusiastic in its praise of the finalists. “These four stars appeared in some of the year’s best movies, all while pushing themselves and the industry forward in dynamic, interesting ways. Falls ranked as one of Adult Empire’s most popular newbies, while Ward’s high-profile switch to hardcore porn scored headlines in mainstream outlets across the country,” Greene said. “Kate dazzled us with performances in massive hits like Drive and Captain Marvel XXX. White, 2018’s Porn Star of the Year, will aim for a repeat, thanks in large part to remarkable showcase features like Angela White: Dark Side.” The Empire Porn Star of the Year is scheduled to be revealed next week on Adult Empire’s official website, blog and social media accounts.
