Lioness Co-Founder Anna Lee Makes Forbes’ 30 Under 30

BERKELEY, Calif.—Lioness co-founder Anna Lee has been named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 list. Lee, 28, is highlighted along with others in the Consumer Technology category. “Anna Lee was fed up with the fact that female sexuality has for so long been a taboo topic with little resources allocated toward it, so she left her job ob Amazon’s Concept Engineering team and created Lioness: a smart vibrator that syncs with an app where women can access biofeedback and visualizations direct from her own body,” her entry on the list reads. “In less than two years, the company has gathered the largest data set of female physiology during arousal and orgasm and is expected to do over $1 million in revenue in 2020.” Lee currently serves as the engineering lead for the Lioness team. She shares her place on the list with other young minds who are “teaching viruses to fight cancer, developing technology to help astronauts breathe on Mars and creating strings of hit songs that fuel our daily playlists,” the publication reported. Lioness made national headlines in August when Samsung apologized for previously kicking the company out of its Growth & Innovation in the Wearable Device Market conference. The Lioness is a unique vibrator and app combination that lets users learn from their sexual experiences. The rabbit-style vibrator is equipped with force sensors that track pelvic floor movements (vaginal contractions) to collect data on arousal and orgasm, while an accelerometer and gyroscopes—the same types of sensors used in smartphones—allow the app to track how the vibrator was used during a play session.
