Winners Announced at the 2nd Pornhub Awards

Above, Bella Thorne. (Photo by Rick Garcia) LOS ANGELES—First, some statistics—which is fitting because these are the Pornhub Awards, produced by the industry’s most data-driven company. On October 11, a total of 48 trophies were given out, with 20 of the winners chosen by the fans. And event host Asa Akira also had plenty of “sexy data” to share during her monologue: Pornhub over the past year has had 30 billion downloads and over 1 million hours of new porn posted. "So this is the last Pornhub Awards ... our work here is done,” she joked. Then, Akira pointed out that The Simpsons are still on, so maybe the demand will never go away: "We're like McDonald's ... we can serve 1 billion burgers, I mean cumshots ... and I'm loving it! The Game of Thrones finale had 20 million viewers—Pornhub gets 120 million views ... per day." The second annual Pornhub Awards took place at the Orpheum Theater in downtown Los Angeles, and the spacious venue had plenty of room for a large red carpet and a bar area where performers mingled before the show. And the stage provided good sightlines to see the entertainment, provided by musical artists Ty Dolla $ign, Bad Bunny, Ian Isiah, Kali Uchis, Rico Nasty and Tommy Genesis. Winners were given bright orange trophies that looked like some sort of molecule model. When the first award was given to Abigail Mac (for Top Lesbian Performer), someone in the press room commented, "What is that?!” Someone else chimed in, "Who designed that? I just want to talk to them." In fact, the design came from British artist and graphic designer Peter Saville. Winners were decided by the viewing patterns of Pornhub’s members as well as its millions of visitors. In the 20 fan-voted categories, users were able to cast their votes for their own personal favorites. Many of porn’s biggest names were soon brandishing their own awards up on stage while Akira kept up the patter. After Angela White won Top Big Tits Performer, Akira talked about feeling her breasts: "The are otherworldly—if you ever get the chance, I highly recommend it.” Abigail Mac (photo by Rick Garcia) She also gushed about running into gay adult star Diego Sans earlier in the day and acting like a flustered fan, and said she wanted him to get a good look at her now, all glammed up. "I will suck your dick forever." While introducing some of the fan-voted awards, Akira said, "These awards are not decided on by a select group of people—they are voted on by our fans! These are the people who buy our panties and support us!” Abella Danger took the stage to present Bella Thorne with the Pornhub Vision Award. Danger’s intro compared Thorne's featurette Her & Him, which debuted on Pornhub Premium last month as part of Pornhub's "Visionaries Director's Club" series, to Nicholas Winding Refn’s Drive—to which her co-presenter added, "So now y'all tryin' to pay for porn or what?” Thorne mentioned she had written her speech on her phone, and read off of it—after giving nods to the stars of Her & Him (Danger and Small Hands), she pointed out, "I see Small Hands right over there." Thorne said she wants to "show the world a raw new approach to filmmaking" and revealed that she's working with Pornhub to implement a new system for flagging content. (Photo by Rick Garcia) All the Brazzers contract stars went up to accept the win for Top Channel. Danger said, "I just want to say when I was in high school I watched Brazzers." Then Keiran Lee prodded her: “And it's not an awards show without thanking ..." Right on cue, Danger whooped,"Thank you, Mark Spiegler! Thank you for selling my first anal to Brazzers.” No stranger to awards, Riley Reid took honors as Top DP Performer and Top Backdoor Performer. When accepting the latter, Reid said, "I think I should thank my dad, because he married his stepsister, and I do porn now! My life is a giant porno!" In accepting his award for Most Popular Male Performer, Jordi El Niño Polla delivered a very Andy Kaufman-esque "Thank you very much" and ended with, "I am living a dream and I never want to wake up.” Asa Akira (photo by Rick Garcia) In a press statement, Pornhub Vice President Corey Price said, “This year’s Pornhub Awards Show brought together luminaries from across the creative landscape, from talented musicians and outstanding creatives to the adult entertainment industry’s top actors and filmmakers, to celebrate and honor their achievements. I would like to commend the boundary breakers, pioneers and visionaries who were nominated for an award this year. It’s a testament to the outstanding work they have done.
