Official Trailer for Lightsouthern’s New Feature ‘Red’ Drops

MELBOURNE, Australia—Award-winning Australian studio Lightsouthern announced Red, its second feature for 2019, and released a trailer for the film, which stars Madison Missina. A performer since 2012, Missina gives her most vulnerable performance ever in Red. “Over my career, I’ve noticed that porn storylines have focuses on the performer doing certain things. I really enjoyed how with Red we were deliberately trying to give the viewer a specific experience,” Missina said of her ninth professional feature. “Red was made to give the viewer a sense of anonymity which is the recurrent theme with my role throughout the film.” The film has five unique POV sex scenes created in docu-style, captured across the red dirt of Australia in a visually impactful punch to the jaw that Lightsouthern is known for. Red has been selected for the 2019 Berlin Porn Film Festival program and will be screened in Female Porn Shorts (34mins) on Thursday, Oct. 24, and Saturday, Oct. 26, at The Moviemento in Berlin Kreuzberg. “Road movies have always sung to me. Momentum 1 and 4 were essentially road movies too, but Red takes it to a whole other, almost sinister level,” said director Michelle Flynn. Flynn also took the opportunity to film some of the POV scenes with a “genderless” feel. “There are some scenes that you can’t tell the gender of the other performer and we both wanted to throw those ambiguities to the viewer,” Flynn said. “The film questions authenticity in porn performance, feminism, and validity of performance itself for the viewer, but it’s also just super sexy.” Lightsouthern and Madison Missina are both nominated for multiple awards at the Australian Adult Industry Awards 2019, slated for Wednesday, Oct. 16.
