Drive-In Sex Booths Taking Off at German Airport

A former airport in Berlin, once used as a Nazi airbase in World War II, is being re-purposed as a drive-in sex booth brothel. Talk about driving to get an In N’ Out Burger. The mayor of Mitte’s centrel district in Berlin, Germany, has proposed that the city install drive-in sex booths called “Verichtungsboxen.” Prostitution is legal in Germany, and Mayor Stephan Von Dassel spent two years working on the project, to “improve working conditions, especially women’s safety, and reduce the negative impact” of street prostitution, by eliminating creepy, violent pimps, and instead regulate the auto erotic action. According to a travel article on CNN.com, Von Dassel found that unregulated street prostitution is leading to men "seeking sexual services at such a low price" that prostitutes are having to engage in sexual services as a "bulk business in order to earn a basic income." The booths eliminate the middleman, so most of the profit will go to the ladies.  The first sex booth appeared in the city of Utrecht, Netherlands, in the mid-1980s. Cologne, Germany, was next in 2001, with carport-like structures that were equipped with security cameras and alarm buttons in each booth in case things got weird. The German cities of Essen and Bonn have government-run sex booths, as well as Zurich, Switzerland, which created theirs in 2013. In Zurich, women stand in a designated area and off the merch, while men sit in their cars and pick out who they want for a little “back seat driving.” Fun fact: one of the top sexual fantasies across the globe is to have sex in a car. Fasten your seat belt, you’re in for a bumpy ride. Walk-ins and customers on bikes won’t be allowed.
