Club Castaway Reopens, Brings on Bella Vendetta as Manager

WHATELY, Mass.—Adult industry performer and producer Bella Vendetta has announced that she has accepted a position as manager at a new strip club opening in Massachusetts. The historic Club Castaway—aka “porn in the corn” or “The Whately Ballet,” as locals have nicknamed the club—changed owners this past summer. The newly rebranded Club Castaway will be changing formats. To help with the revamp, the owners have brought on Bella Vendetta, who announced her retirement from dancing last year. According to Vendetta, “The new version of the club will be unlike anything Western Mass has ever seen!” The club's new schedule will feature male dancers on Mondays and queer-inclusive, body-diverse events on Tuesdays (which could include lesbian, trans and queer nights, burlesque and pole showcases). Wednesday through Saturday, the venue will aim for an “upscale strip club vibe with an emphasis on performances.” And for the first time, the club will be open Sundays as a sports bar, complete with food trucks outside. “I want to get rid of the notion of dive bar and replace it with an image of a special getaway, a destination location. What we are creating here is so special you won’t be able to find it in other places,” Vendetta said, describing the new business venture. “It will be completely different from anything the other clubs in New England have going on.” Vendetta speaks from an informed perspective, having worked as both a feature entertainer and house dancer at clubs around the United States for the past 13 years. Club Castaway plans to reopen October 29 with “Out of the Box,” a lesbian strip night with New York Ckity feature dancer Papi Dancebeast. Halloween night will be the club's grand reopening. Club Castaway’s October 31 Halloween bash, “Wicked Witches Bad Bitches,” will feature a witch costume contest with prizes sponsored by the Adam & Eve adult shop in Greenfield, Mass., and SelfServeToys.com.
