CineKink Kinky Film Festival Coming to Portland, OR September 25

Every year, the CineKink organization holds its Kinky Film Festival in New York City, now in its 16th season, with winners chosen and prizes awarded through a combination of critics' and fan voters' approval. Likewise, every year, CineKink takes a selection of those winners "on the road" to municipalities around the country for a special evening of films that celebrate and explore a wide diversity of sexuality. That tour will arrive in Portland, OR on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 as "the kinky film festival" presents a hot, one-night stand. CineKink: PDX will begin at 7 p.m. with the shorts program, "Best of CineKink/2019," followed by "Sweet Spot" at 9 p.m. Both screenings will take place at the Clinton Street Theater, 2522 SE Clinton St. in Portland. "Best of CineKink/2019" is a collection of sexy shorts deemed the best during CineKink's most recent festival run. This year's assortment, with works ranging from mildly spicy to quite explicit, includes a comic look at one woman’s struggle to enjoy some alone time, a colorful portrait of an infamous latex aficionado, along with a documentary about, and the latest work from, CineKink 2019 Spotlight Artist Jennifer Lyon Bell. The full line-up features Me Time (Iyabo Boyd), Lesson #1 and Lesson #8 (Alberto Ferreras), I Am Lucie Bee (Ms. Naughty), The Baroness (Isabel Faintych), Remember Me (Luis Camacho), Birthday (Shine Louise Houston), What’s Your Policy on Orgasms? (Zoe D’Amaro) and Adorn (Jennifer Lyon Bell). Immediately following, at 9 PM, will be "Sweet Spot," a program of kinky shorts that poke and play with the dynamics of scratching just that particular itch! Selections in this screening include Ostara (by Portland filmmaker Allen Dusk), Sweet, Sweet Kink: A Collection of BDSM Stories (Maggie M. Bailey), Spanko (Melanie Zoey Weinstein), Little (Kris Williams), Unbridled (Marcus Quillan and Simon Christopher), Two People, One Ring (Evan Richards), The Wheel of Fortune (Bambi K) and Frostbite (Luna Kuu, Laura Rämö and Martin Jäger). CineKink co-founder and director Lisa Vandever, a Portland native, will be on hand for a post-screening discussion with any attending filmmakers. Admission is $10 at the door/$8 in advance per screening; $15 door/$12 advance for both; admission limited to those 18 and over only. National tour sponsors for CineKink/2019 are Bowery Bliss and njoy, along with Film Festival Secrets, FoodPorn Hub and Lustery, with additional local support from KinkFest, The Mystery Box Show and She Bop. CineKink will travel next to Oakland, with a screening scheduled for October 2. Future CineKink tour dates include Toronto (October 23) and Chicago (November 22-23), with additional cities to be announced shortly. More detail about the films presented may be found here.
