Joanna Angel Returns to Pure Taboo Helm With 'Maid of Honor'

LOS ANGELES—AVN Hall of Famer Joanna Angel gets back in the writing/directing saddle at Pure Taboo with new featurette Maid of Honor, available now at PureTaboo.com. Maid of Honor also stars Angel as one half of an engaged couple, alongside real-life husband Small Hands. Angel's stepsister, played by Jane Wilde, has long acted highly competitive toward her, leading to the two becoming estranged. A week before the wedding, Jane shows up uninvited, and a sexual battle royale ensues. "This is a story about jealousy and vanity, and how it can get the best of people and lead them to act out of character," Angel explained. "It tears apart friendships, families and relationships." She continued, "This was an incredibly ambitious scene; lots of dialogue, anger, tears and chaos. We captured an entire scene where I'm smashing chairs and glasses before the wedding a la Guns N' Roses' 'November Rain.' I used my actual wedding dress for this movie, which Jane rips to shreds." Commented Maid of Honor cinematographer and fellow AVN Hall of Famer Mike Quasar, "I've always appreciated the aesthetic of Pure Taboo. It really is different from anything that's been done in adult before. Joanna worked so hard putting this concept together and it was so much fun for me to map out how to best capture it for her." "Jane did an incredible job and the sex is phenomenal," Angel added. "She does not cease to impress me in everything she does, and Small Hands ... that guy's all right too."
