Aneros Issues Voluntary Recall on Vice 2 Due to Program Error

HOUSTON – Sexual health and wellness company Aneros announced today a voluntary recall of its Vice 2 hands-free prostate massager, saying that while the device presents no safety risk, a “manufacturing defect reduces its ability to perform certain functions.”

“We regret to announce a voluntary recall for the Vice 2 after discovering a manufacturing defect which reduces functionality,” said Brent Aldon, director of sales and marketing for Aneros. “We are committed to providing the full experience Vice 2 was intended to offer, and we’re doing everything in our power to make sure our customers are satisfied.”

According to Aneros, the company’s engineers found a defect on some of the Vice 2 massagers which causes some of the device’s 18 vibration patterns to “operate at one speed only.”

“Customers are encouraged to return the VICE 2 to Aneros by visiting https://www.aneros.com/vice-2-recall or emailing vice2@aneros.com to request a prepaid shipping label (return shipping is free to the customer),” Aneros said in its statement issued today. “Customers who purchased the VICE 2 from the Aneros website may ask for a refund or a warranty exchange for a replacement unit. Replacement units will be shipped to customers in September of 2019.”

To receive a refund, customers must return the entire Vice 2 set, which includes the device itself, a remote and charging cable. Refunds will be issued upon receipt of the returned product.

The company specified that for warranty exchanges, only the device needs to be returned, not the remote and charging cable.

“Device-only exchanges will be accepted when Vice 2 replacements are available in September and will be shipped within 3-5 business days of receipt of the defective unit,” Aneros said in its statement.

The company also specified that “Vice 2 purchases from authorized Aneros retailers will be eligible for a warranty exchange only. Customers may email vice2@aneros.com with proof of purchase when Vice 2 replacements are available in September to request a prepaid shipping label.”

“We apologize to all of our customers for any inconvenience this may have caused and we appreciate their patience as we continue to resolve this issue,” Aldon said.
