ASACP to Address Current State of Online Child Protection at QWEBEC Expo |
LOS ANGELES — The Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP) announced Monday that it will offer a presentation called âCurrent Child Protection Issuesâ at the upcoming QWEBEC Expo at the Novotel Hotel in Montreal. The Expo runs from today (August 6) through August 9; the ASACP presentation will be held Thursday, August 8, from 2:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. In addition to the presentation, ASACP Executive Director Tim Henning will attend the Expo as part of ASACPâs ongoing outreach to adult industry stakeholders, âcarrying out its issue education and advocacy efforts where it matters most,â the organization said in a statement issued Monday. âASACP uses events such as QWEBEC Expo to help educate relevant businesses about the need to protect children online, and how free ASACP services such as the Restricted To Adults (RTA) website meta-label, Best Practices and Code of Ethics, help accomplish this,â Henning said. âQWEBEC Expo attracts a global audience that includes representatives of many prestigious Canadian companies â among the digital media industryâs largest and most vibrant â making this a âmust-attendâ event for the association.â ASACP noted that QWEBEC Expo is âgenerously providing ASACP with complimentary admission to the event, plus an ad in the eventâs show guide, a booth on the show floor where informational materials will be available, and a table at the popular âMeet Marketâ networking event.â QWEBEC Expo organizer Michael Plante said the event is âonce again honored to support ASACP and RTA this year by giving them as much exposure as possible. âTim and his team do a tremendous job of helping mainstream audiences understand that the legitimate adult industry community has no links to CP and is fighting this heinous crime against children,â Plante added. In the âCurrent Child Protection Issuesâ session, Henning will âexplore how companies are successfully securing their apps and sites today through the use of RTA labeling and what the future holds, including up-to-date information on age verification mandates, adult content blocking initiatives and more.â âA big part of ASACPâs mission involves governmental and industry outreach, with sessions such as this providing a vital touchpoint between the association and various stakeholders,â Henning said. âAttending QWEBEC Expo enables us to reach executives from adult entertainment companies along with individual content publishers and promoters, making a real difference in online child safety.â For more information, or to schedule a meeting with Henning during the Expo, please contact tim@asacp.org. |
