Comedian Chuy Chorizo Passes Away at Age 50

LANCASTER, Calif.—Joe Esparza—known professionally as Chuy Chorizo, one-half of the comedy duo the Chorizo Brothers—died unexpectedly at the age of 50 on Friday, June 27. Joe (Chuy) was the co-founder of Chorizo Brothers Entertainment as well as co-host on the popular Chorizo Brothers Podcast which aired on Demon Seed Radio Network, as well as a familiar face at many adult industry awards shows and expos, and even the old RudeTT. “Joe was a special soul, a light that reflected off of everyone he met,” his brother and co-host Pedro Chong AKA Chong Chorizo, said. “There will never be anyone quite like him. My brother was an important part of my life and his presence will be greatly missed. It is going to be hard to move forward, but these projects were his dream and I feel he would want them to come to life. it will take time but I will bring them to life. My brother touched so many lives, not just within the industry, but, in his music, in his comedy, and to the countless charities he worked with. He gave so much of his heart, that in the end he didn’t have enough for himself.” A Chorizo Brothers LLC spokesperson added, “His smile and laughter were a gift to all he met. He was a kind and loving soul, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. As we look forward, we look back and reflect, our lives are forever changed, our paths altered way too young. We have no choice but to continue, however hard it may be, but we know you will watch over us and guide us in your own special way. Thank you for the countless hours of laughter, smiles, hugs, and genuine compassion. The person you embodied both on and off stage will forever be embedded in our hearts.” A viewing is planned for Saturday, July 13, at Woodlawn Cemetery 1847 14th, St. Santa Monica, CA 90404 from 9 a.m. to noon. A short service will be held afterward. At the request of the family all are welcome to attend, however, please allow seating for the family.
