Stormy Daniels Booted Out of Canada, Allegedly Due to ‘Politics’

Last Friday, Stormy Daniels arrived at Toronto Pearson International Airport, on her way to an appearance at the Sundowner club in nearby Niagara Falls—but for reasons that remain unclear, the AVN Hall of Famer was treated with “great disrespect” by customs officials and refused entry into Canada, according to a report by The Buffalo Chronicle.  Daniels was not scheduled to perform her strip act at the club. Instead, her appearance was to be limited to a “meet and greet” with fans, highlighting the 50th anniversary celebration of the venerable Canadian club. Because she would not perform in the country, Daniels did not require a Canadian work visa, according to the Chronicle report.  Despite her paperwork reportedly being in order, Daniels was detained for three hours then forced to board the next available flight to the United States—which took her to Miami, Florida, according to a report by the Toronto Sun.  Daniels has no criminal record. She was arrested in Columbus, Ohio, in July of 2018, for allegedly making physical contact with an undercover police officer, but those charges were dropped less than 24 hours after her arrest, as AVN.com reported.  Daniels, of course, became an international celebrity last year when she sued Donald Trump over a “hush money” agreement to cover up a sexual encounter the two had in 2006. The lawsuit was dismissed after about a year, as AVN.com reported.  According to the Chronicle report, however, “many familiar with the situation say that it was likely a high-level decision was made by a senior government official.” The report also said that people close to Daniels suspected that "international politics" was behind the seemingly bizarre decision to bar Daniels from Canada. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau met with Trump at the White House last Thursday, the day before Daniels was turned away at the Toronto airport, to discuss sensitive trade agreements between Canada and the United States. Trudeau, after initial tensions with Trump, has recently been portraying the relationship between the two leaders as on the upswing, according to a CNN report.  The club, however, was set to charge $40 for patrons to meet with Daniels, and proprietor Simo Ruden said he was also puzzled as to why Daniels was denied entry into Canada. “We have never had a problem like this before booking talent from the States. We are a progressive country and welcome Americans with open arms," Ruden told the Chronicle. "We are a border town and our economies are linked and I’m ashamed that she was treated so disrespectfully by our government.” Stormy Daniels at the 2019 AVN Adult Entertainment Expo; photo by Rick Garcia/@IndustryByRick
