E3 2019 to Kick Off at LA Convention Center

LOS ANGELES—The center of the worldwide gaming community will be the LA Convention Center this week as the country’s premier event for computer and video games, E3, returns for three days of networking and product launches. Dozens of leading-edge companies and technologies will be showcased during the annual expo, which attracts industry executives, gamers, social influencers and entertainment celebrities. Show organizers anticipate an international affair with attendees from more than 100 different countries in attendance for a series of exhibit booths, expert panels and demos. Tech heavyweights such as Facebook, Microsoft, Intel, Oculus, YouTube, Twitch, Nintendo, IGN, EA and Tencent will all be participating at the expo, which opens at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Among the attendees will be software developers, programmers, buyers, retailers, venture capitalists, distributors and manufacturers—not to mention a worldwide media contingent. E3 is owned by Entertainment Software Association (ESA), which is dedicated to serving the business and public affairs needs of the companies developing and publishing interactive games for video game consoles, handheld devices, personal computers, and the internet.    The ESA offers a range of services to interactive entertainment software publishers including a global content protection program, business and consumer research, government relations and intellectual property protection efforts.  The latest breakthroughs in virtual reality entertainment, computer, video and mobile technology will also be presented in the heart of downtown LA. In addition, ESA and E3 are teaming up with producer Geoff Keighley (The Game Awards) to introduce the E3 Coliseum, a main stage that will feature discussions with notable creative executives such as the producers and writers of The Simpsons and the director of John Wick, Chad Stahelski, among others.
