Guy Sues Parents for Destroying His Massive Porn Collection

An Indiana man known only as “Charlie” is suing his parents for over $85,000 for destroying his gigantic collection of adult entertainment and sex toys.

When Charlie moved in with his parents in Grand Haven in 2016 following a divorce at age 40, he had amassed over 400 VHS tapes, 1,600 DVDs, 160 CDs, and 70 sex toys, the Detroit Free Press reported. Altogether, he valued the collection at $28,940.72. When he moved to Indiana after what Fox17 called a “domestic situation”  at his parents’ home, he left his valuable stash in Michigan.

But, when his parents brought his belongings to Indiana in 2017, the porn and toys were missing. Fox17 reported that, when Charlie asked about his belongings, his parents replied via e-mail, “We counted twelve moving boxes full of pornography plus two boxes of ‘sex toys’ as you call them. We began that day the process of destroying them and it took quite a while to do so.”

In further e-mail correspondence, Charlie claimed in the lawsuit, his father wrote, “One reason for why I destroyed your porn was for your own mental and emotional health.” In another e-mail, he claimed that his son was kicked out of high school and college for selling porn to other students. And, according to NBC News, his father followed up with, “I did you a big favor by getting rid of all this stuff for you.”

Apparently unconvinced by this reasoning, Charlie took his case to local police twice, but the county prosecutor declined to press charges, according to the Associated Press. So this week, Charlie filed a civil suit against his parents for $86,822.16 in damages.

We can’t predict how this will play out, but we do wonder how the parents destroyed all that smut. Perhaps it was a ritualistic bonfire in the backyard. Or maybe they brought it all to the dump in the dead of night to avoid any of their neighbors witnessing their shame. Personally, we think they sold it all on E-bay and are planning a cruise.
