Fresh Faces: Demi Sutra

Interviewing Demi Sutra is like popping the cork on a shaken-up bottle of Champagne: Everything comes out in a gush, and it's all good. Ask her about her choice of work name, and you'll fine that she is a yoga teacher. "One of my biggest things is to incorporate yogic lifestyles with the expression of sexuality—there's a huge lack in the two worlds, in my opinion—so I thought that Demi is my actual nickname, and one of my best friends was like 'What about Sutra?' and I was like, ‘That's not gonna work’ ... and then I was like, 'Fuck. That's the coolest name I ever heard.’ Suddenly I loved it." She got into adult entertainment by deliberate choice. "I grew up a little Catholic girl, singing in the church, but my mom was big on education, including sexual education. I found a book of hers of sexual positions. They were all black and white, but they were captured in such a beautiful way. I watched porn through the scramble [on cable TV] and I thought it was so cool. I wanted to be that. I saw Playboy Playmates and I thought, 'You can get paid for just being a hot ... bitch? And owning your sexuality? I want to be that.' So I worked my way up the ladder." She started as a stripper in New Mexico. "I always felt nerdy and awkward with my body, but when I got on stage, the dudes and the girls were just in awe. You can tell. Then I felt grace. And power. And that was a taste, and Demi Sutra evolved from that." Sutra shot her first scene for Reality Kings in Florida, and "I had a Mohawk and I was this tiny little nervous thing, but I was horny, so I was like, 'I think between me and my fuckin' pussy, I can do this. And I did it. It was awesome." She says her best scene so far was for Kelly Holland's new Chick Media; "Oh my gawd, I have never felt more inspired by anyone than this woman [Kelly Holland]. I love her. She said 'This is your partner, but do you mind if this other guy touches you? You don't have to have sex with him. We want you to feel respected.' I was like 'I actually like being respectfully disrespected—and I would love to fuck both of them.' She cracked up. 'Let's see what we can do.' "I was, like, seriously? I want to fuck everyone in this goddam mansion, right now. She was like, 'Okay!' and laughing. She rewrote the script. It was amazing." Her dream scene would have her as an African goddess "being rightfully worshipped. One of my biggest turn-ons is being watched, so the women are undressing me and all my slave men are standing there with their dicks out. I need to see you. I'm carried to the bath, and the women bathe me, and I'm carried to the bed and they give me a gold chalice and I drink and I draw the guys over and they worship every part of my body. Once I'm super soaking wet and begging for it—but I would never beg, obviously—I let them all fuck me. Mouths everywhere. And I get sips of Champagne because when you're getting fucked for a long time you get thirsty." Sutra has two distinctive poker-chip-sized birthmarks right below her ribcage. "They're like North and South America to me. Everyone told me to cover them with makeup. I did. I hated it. It was messy, it was a pain in the ass, my fans started asking me why the fuck I was doing that. I don’t like covering them. I'm not here to be perfect. I'm not here to represent perfection in women. I want to be unique, and I think everybody should embrace their weird shit. That's the weirdest thing on my body, I got made fun of for it, I thought I would never lose my virginity—and now, I want to change my Twitter handle to CumOnMyBirthmark. People think it's a bruise, that's why I'm trying to make it known. The more it gets covered, the more people will think I have a bruise." Follow Demi Sutra on Twitter: @demisutra.
