Center for Sex & Culture Hosts Several Events This Holiday Season

SAN FRANCISCO—The Center for Sex & Culture will close its doors in early 2019 thanks in part to higher rents throughout the city, but before that happens, it has a very busy schedule planned for the holiday season. Highlighting the upcoming events roster is a visit from S. Bear Bergman. CSC's current visiting Artist in Residence (he hails from Toronto). Bear presents an afternoon workshop and an evening spoken word event this Saturday, December 22, at CSC, 1349 Mission in San Francisco. At 2 p.m. he'll teach a "Compose Your Story" workshop, and at 7 p.m. he'll return for storytelling: "Welcome Back, Daylight!" Workshop space is limited, so RSVP to [email protected]. More about Bergman can be found here. On December 23, CSC will open its doors for its annual XXXmas Soiree and White Elephant Gift Exchange from 6-10 p.m.. Later that week, it joins the Bay Area Bisexual Network in hosting a Bifabulous evening on December 27, 7:30-9:30 p.m.; celebrates its current art show, Fever, with a festive closing reception; and opens the next show by artist Nika Cherrelle with a reception on Saturday, December 29, beginning at 5 p.m followed by a comedy night. A New Year's Eve party thrown by/for the Bay Area deaf community and allies kicks off on the last day of the year, and will run from 9 p.m. till 2 a.m; Annie Sprinkle and Beth Stephens screen their latest movie at CSC on Friday, January 4, at 7:30 p.m.; and regular storytelling night "TMI: Sexworker Confidential," follows on January 5 at 7:30 p.m. S. Bear Bergman's final event, "Ask Bear Bergman," will be held on the following day, beginning at 7:30 p.m. For those interested in CSC's post-January future, a press release will follow with more detail soon. All events take place at the Center for Sex & Culture, 1349 Mission St., San Francisco CA. The Center for Sex & Culture is a 501(c)(3) non-profit educational organization and community center that provides judgement-free education, and explores and preserves knowledge and materials about sex and gender.
