New Erotic Heritage Museum Exhibit Examines Sex & Cannabis

LAS VEGAS, NV—The Erotic Heritage Museum has announced the opening of its newest exhibit, “Sex and Cannabis.” The exhibit, inspired by the decriminalization of cannabis in Nevada, pairs perfectly with the launch of Planet 13 in Las Vegas earlier this month; reputedly the “world’s largest marijuana dispensary” and experiential space, which is located immediately next door to the EHM. “Cannabis has been slowly moving out of the shadows and into mainstream life once again,” noted EHM Executive Director Dr. Victoria Hartmann. “A grand but little-known narrative throughout the annals of time is the inclusion of cannabis into the erotic lives of countless people. We attempt to cover some of this narrative in our newest exhibit, and explore how cannabis has walked hand-in-hand within the sex lives of human beings. Come and visit this new and exciting addition to the Museum!”  “The human race has had a symbiotic relationship with the cannabis plant for thousands of years,” explained an EHM representative. “Over the past 10,000 years, we have been using cannabis for medical use, as well as pleasurable, personal, sexual, and entertainment purposes. The plant has also been noted in the annals of history as the first agricultural crop, directly leading to the development of civilization. Cannabis has been used for everything from a paste to relieve labor pains in childbirth in Russia, to being made into a tea as an aphrodisiac for tantric sex in historic Indian culture, and a myriad of ways and means in between. The uses are almost limitless, and as such, cannabis is intrinsically linked to the evolution and development of humans on this planet. Our exhibit includes not only educational information; we have located some very interesting artifacts relating to marijuana use in ancient civilizations, which we hope will pique our visitors’ curiosity. We hope our newest exhibit not just teaches, but inspires our guests to learn more about the cannabis plant and all it has to offer.” For more information, including Museum hours, ticket prices, workshops, live shows, events, exhibits, and more, click here. The EHM may also be followed on Twitter and on Facebook.
