Olivia Lua Death Ruled an OD

WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif.—The Los Angeles County Coroner's Office has determined that the January death of adult performer Olivia Lua was caused by an accidental overdose of methamphetamine.  Lua was residing at a West Hollywood rehab facility called Klean at the time of her death for treatment of a prescription drug addiction, local news outlet WEHOville.com reported Thursday. Shortly after the news broke, allegations surfaced that an employee at Klean had supplied Lua with illegal drugs and was fired following her death, the site said. WEHOville did not identify any source of these allegations, but did say that the employee in question had been accused of providing drugs to other rehab patients. It also noted that in January, Andrew Spanswick of Klean parent company White Rabbit Partners said he was unable to speak to the allegations, and that the L.A. County Sheriff's Department's detective bureau declined to look into the claims because no cause of death had yet been determined. Lua's agent at the time of her passing, LA Direct Models, issued a statement following her death that included the notation: "Family and close friends relate they had deep concern at the volume of prescription drugs prescribed to Olivia and the danger this posed her, if this was mixed with recreational drugs or alcohol. It is believed this to be the cause of her passing." Photo of Olivia Lua at the 2017 AVN House Party by Jeff Koga/@KogaFoto.
