'Quantico' Star Russell Tovey Engaged to Former Randy Blue Model

CYBERSPACE—British-born actor Russell Tovey, star of such TV shows as Quantico, Being Human, and Him & Her, announced his engagement on Tuesday to his boyfriend of the past two years, a fitness guru and rugby player named Steve Brockman. Tovey’s fans and the media greeted the news with good wishes for the couple, but shortly after the engagement was made public, Twitter users noticed another fact about Brockman.  He previously went by another name, Randy Stack, which he used when he appeared in gay porn scenes produced by the popular studio Randy Blue. “Also if you’re wondering why you recognize Steve Brockman, Google ‘Ryan Stack Randy Blue’ and thank me later,” wrote a Twitter user by the name of Tom Zohar on Wednesday. And Instinct magazine reader also noted the resemblance when the news was posted on the publication's site, and commented “Of course, there's nothing wrong with it...” A second reader responded, “Nothing bad at all.” Instinct followed up with a second story that links to NSFW photos of “Ryan Stack.” The 36-year-old Tovey, who has been out since the age of 18, told Britain’s Daily Mail newspaper that his engagement to Brockman was “Completely unexpected but very very happy and looking forward to having a proper party to celebrate when back in London.” He didn't discuss the subject of his future husband’s past in the adult biz. “I wonder if Russell was first a fan of Steve—aka ex-gay porn star Ryan Stack—before they met,” wrote Twitter user Dan R. “Must be nice to be a famous gay, and have their pick of the hottest!” According to a report on the revelation by the site Towleroad, Brockman/Stack found his way into the gay porn profession by starting as a fan of Randy Blue videos—but he soon drew the attention of the company and ended up “eventually performing three scenes with partners (Andrew Stark, Patrick Dunne and Trent Davis) and one solo scene. Stack’s popularity on the site earned him a place in the Randy Blue Hall of Fame,” according to the Towleroad account. After his brief but apparently illustrious gay porn career, Brockman moved on to his current occupation as a fitness guru—but he also plays rugby for the London-based gay-inclusive rugby club Kings Cross Steelers RFC. In fact, according the Daily Mail, Steelers became England’s first gay-inclusive rugby squad when the club was formed in 1995. The paper also reports that Brockman has left the team to join Stovey in New York City, where Quantico is filmed. The former “Ryan Stack” is now reportedly a rugby coach in the U.S.
