xHamster Debuts #UsToo Campaign To Fight Sexual Assault in Adult

CYPRUS—xHamster announced its crete the campaign #UsToo in an effort to raise awareness of sexual assault and harassment among adult industry workers. “We know we’re a porn site," writes Alex Hawkins, vice president of xHamster. “And we understand we’ll get criticized by people who will say that we’re bringing negative attention an industry that’s already unfairly attacked, and that we should stay in the business of fantasy. We care too much about this business, and its performers, to let that happen.” Hawkins said xHamster is hoping the site can elevate stories that otherwise might otherwise be dismissed. The site has offered its platform, and the suggested hashtag #UsToo, to encourage performers to share stories, even anonymously, of experiences with assault, abuse and harassment within the industry. xHamster has posted an open letter to performers, with instructions on how to use the site to share experiences of harassment, abuse and assault. The open letter can be read here.
