ASACP and FSC To Host Joint Panel on Age Verification At Phoenix Forum Today

TEMPE, AZ—The Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP) and the Free Speech Coalition (FSC) will jointly host a panel discussion today at 3 p.m. on the current state of age-verification and child protection in the adult industry. The panel will address current technologies for age-verification, legislative initiatives relating to child protection, and best practices for limiting the ability of minors to access adult content. “ASACP has worked to keep adult material away from minors for over two decades,” said Tim Henning, Executive Director of the ASACP. “We’re pleased to host this panel in conjunction with the Free Speech Coalition, to help raise more awareness in the industry as to tools and strategies to keep adult material for adults.” The panel, “Due Diligence: Leading the Way in Age Verification and Online Child Protection,” will be held in the Tempe Mission Palms, Palm F Suite and will be hosted by Henning and Eric Paul Leue, Executive Director of the Free Speech Coalition. Representatives from VeriMe, Mindgeek, CCBill, and ICM will be on hand for the discussion, and to answer questions from industry members.  “Age-verification laws and adult content blocking legislation are being introduced and passed with rapid pace, fueled by a moral crusade that blames our industry for human trafficking, sex trafficking, child abuse and child pornography while neglecting to acknowledge our industry’s own work against these,” said Leue. “We are currently fighting or monitoring over two dozen pieces of state legislation, as well as numerous international bills that would ban content or create major liabilities for adult producers.”
