Squirt.org Launches Make America Gay Again Twibbon Campaign

TORONTO — Gay hookup site Squirt.org has launched its “Let’s Make America Gay Again” online campaign to encourage everyone to support LGBT rights and protest President Donald Trump’s opposition to those rights.  “Some say protest is perhaps the best form of patriotism, and it’s more true now than ever before,” said Attila Szatmari, digital business director for Pink Triangle Press, Squirt’s parent company. “We encourage everyone to visit Squirt.org and join our campaign to make America Gay Again, and to show the new administration that we believe that gay rights and the rights of all Americans should be respected!”  The new viral effort asks visitors to support the campaign and gay rights by changing their social media profile photos through the Twibbon Twitter app to a stylized meme that features their photo with campaign slogan emblazoned across the bottom of the image. Participants will be encouraged to tweet and post about the campaign as well as add the billboard image as a Facebook cover photo. To participate, click here.  The campaign was established in conjunction with Squirt.org’s billboard campaign, now underway, which features two guys holding an American flag along with the “Let’s Make America Gay Again” slogan on billboards in Los Angeles and New York City. The viral effort reiterates the gay hookup site’s support of gay rights, as well as encourages Trump and his administration to take LGBT rights seriously.  At the heart of the effort is the concern and fear by many in the gay community who are apprehensive about the Trump presidency. Trump’s opposition in 2016 to gay marriage and his support for judges who would seek to overturn the Marriage Equality Act that legalized gay unions are among the many points of contention.  Transgender rights are also in question as Trump has voiced his support for the controversial law in North Carolina that bans transgender individuals from using bathrooms that do not coincide with their biological gender.  According to a Gallup Poll, there was a 10 percent decline among those surveyed in the LGBT community who considered themselves as “thriving” prior to Trump’s election win last November. The drop is widely seen as the result of fear and apprehension from those in the LGBT community over Trump’s stated stance on LGBT issues, and how the administration may actively work to repeal some of the legislative triumphs during the Obama presidency, such as the Marriage Equality Act and anti-discrimination laws.  Squirt.org is the go-to sex-positive community for gay and bi-curious men to find the hottest hook up spots, best cruising sites, gay bars, and places to meet singles in L.A., New York, and anywhere else in the U.S. and around the world.  For more visit Squirt.org/makeamericagayagain.
