International Lingerie Show Closes Up Shop

LAS VEGAS—Organizers of the International Lingerie Show, a bi-annual show that featured lingerie companies and pleasure products manufacturers and distributors, announced it will no longer produce the event. In a post on the ILS Facebook page, and in a letter to clients, organizers wrote the following: “To our Vendors, Buyers and Followers: "As some of you may have heard, the ILS will no longer be producing shows. The staff of Specialty Trade Shows wants to sincerely and profusely thank you all for your support for nearly 2 decades, we sure had some fun! Time to move on to bigger and better things, so keep on the look out for industry news for our future plans. "Happy New Year to all!” The Facebook group also changed its name to “World Wide Stuff.” The April edition of ILS was set to debut in its new home at the Westgate Hotel. For the past 13 years ILS was housed at the Rio Hotel & Convention Center. ILS founder Jeff Yunis, in a statement to exhibitors and attendees, said competition was a “major factor” in his decision—several lingerie companies did not attend the fall ILS and instead formed the Lingerie Industry Association nonprofit group and created the Altitude Lingerie Show, which is scheduled for April 2-4 at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. Yunis also said that at age 75, “with many more things I want to do and places I want to visit and family considerations, the timing was right.” As of Tuesday morning, the show’s website had been removed.
