Falcon Studios Kicks Off 45th Anniversary with 'Seed Money' Screening to Benefit 'No on 60'

SAN FRANCISCO—Chuck Holmes founded Falcon Studios, so it seems only fitting that it will launch a year of special events, promotions and special releases to celebrate its 45th anniversary with a special ‘No on 60’ benefit screening of the Holmes documentary Seed Money. The studio will kick off the year-long festivities on Sunday, October 16, at the Kabuki Sundance Theater, 1881 Post Street, San Francisco with the Seed Money VIP reception at 3 p.m. with guest speaker presentations and screening starting at 5 p.m. The documentary about the prolific Falcon Studios founder, who some would call the “Godfather of Gay Porn,” and chronicles Falcon’s rise as one of the most recognized and successful gay porn brands in the world. After a thriving year on the film festival circuit, Seed Money was recently acquired for distribution by Breaking Glass Pictures, and now returns home for this special one-night only event. The screening will include a panel discussion hosted by Sister Roma with special guest speakers including Tim Valenti, President of Falcon Studios Group and NakedSword Network; Seed Money director, Mike Stabile; and Free Speech Coalition Executive Director Eric Paul Leue. “What more fitting way to kick off Falcon’s 45th Anniversary celebrations than this special screening of Seed Money, which tells the story of visionary Falcon Studios founder, Chuck Holmes,” stated Valenti. “Adult film producers like Chuck faced senseless obscenity prosecutions, so we’re thrilled to use his story to raise money to defeat California Ballot Measure 60, a law that could jeopardize the entire porn industry.” Prior to the discussion and screening, a VIP reception will be held at the Kabuki Sundance Mezzanine Bar. California’s Ballot Measure 60 poses the biggest threat to free speech and porn performers since Falcon became a studio in the early '70s.
