Kat Dior Discusses Eventful Comeback

LOS ANGELES—Kat Dior admits she always gets nervous before a sex scene—in a good way. “But the nerves end as soon as they say ‘action,’” Dior says. And after that she’s too busy throwing down to think about anything else. “I would say and a lot of people would say I’m pretty nasty,” Dior confesses. “I’m very energetic in all of my scenes. I’m a talker. I talk a lot during my scenes. There’s usually always something coming out of my mouth inappropriate. That’s kind of my style. If someone tells me to tune it down then I’ll try, but I’m usually more of an upbeat, like crazy ‘fuck my asshole!’" It’s why she continues to rack up bookings since returning to the porn industry last November after a two-year hiatus.  “It’s been amazing. I’m actually really glad that I took that break. I feel like I needed it,” the 22-year-old performer explains. “I feel like getting into the industry at such a young age isn’t always a good idea especially if you don’t really have someone to watch your back and teach you the ropes of things. “There are certainly different things that I would definitely redo back then. So being in the industry now I can kind of take everything that I’ve learned and put it into my career now. And I actually feel like I’ve gotten further in the seven months that I’ve been in the industry now than the year I was in the industry before.” Dior broke into porn in late 2012, working in only about a dozen scenes during a nine-month stretch. She did her first scene back on Nov. 25, when she took on Levi Cash and Bill Bailey in a d.p. scene called “Kat Got Your Dick” for Brazzers. “I went straight into it,” Dior says with a mischievous grin. “I needed it.” Dior at the time of this interview had already shot four times with Elegant Angel, Hustler, Team Skeet, Naughty America, Digital Playground, James Deen Productions, Evil Angel, Jules Jordan (Manuel DPs Them All 4), Devil’s Film (Neighborhood Swingers 17), BAM Visions (Anal Visions) and many more. “My first feature was with Digital Playground and it’s a d.p., and I’m really proud of that scene,” Dior says of the encounter in Sex Machina: A XXX Parody with Tommy Gunn and Ryan Ryder. “I love that one. Just my energy in it. I put energy into all my scenes but I feel like every new scene I get I have extra energy for it. I feel like I always do better in each scene.” No argument here. Another highlight for Dior came in Elegant Angel’s Battle of the Squirters, which saw her go toe-to-toe with Kleio Valentien and Markus Dupree. The anal squirt scene “is probably my all-time favorite scene to shoot,” Dior suggests. “It was hot,” she says. “I took a few before-and-after pictures and after like three minutes we took a break to drink more water and literally my hair was drenched. My eyelashes were off. It was an epic three minutes. That was a really hot scene and me and Kleio had great chemistry. Markus Dupree is always amazing to work with.” Now signed with Jonathan Morgan and Andre Madness’s Nexxxt Level Talent, Dior says she’s found an agency home. “I really clicked with them. They suit me. Everything that I need in an agency they had,” she says. “I met with them probably three or four times before we actually completely linked up. All three of us agreed that it was a good team.” A Valley girl who was born in Northridge, Calif., and grew up in Venice Beach, Dior returned to Los Angeles in late May from Las Vegas, where she resided for three years. She worked as a medical assistant and moonlighted as a stripper in 2012, when she became intrigued by the thought of doing porn. “I wanted to model. I kind of always wanted to model. So I found nude modeling,” she says, recalling she scouted modeling ads on Craigslist. “And I was like, OK that looks like something I would do maybe. So I went and met up with this agent. I guess they wanted to meet me first. They didn’t tell me that you had to do films, too. So I asked them, ‘is there any way I can just do the photos and get paid for the photos and not do the films?’ And they’re like, ‘no.’ So I wasn’t completely sure I was going to do it. And then it took me about a week or so and then I just decided I would do it.” During her first tour in porn she didn’t shy away from hardcore, doing anal, a d.p. and even a gangbang scene. “I basically left the industry shortly after that,” she says. “I’ve been doing a lot better. I’ve been shooting for a lot of companies who I wanted to shoot with back then who I’m now shooting with and I’m so excited about.” Dior, who has her phlebotomy license, also worked at a hair salon and at Sbarro’s pizza at a mall in Culver City before porn. Now she loves her job. “A lot of people don’t enjoy their jobs. A lot of people don’t want to be where they have to be. I feel like I’m young and I have a little bit of time to enjoy myself. So I’m just kind of doing my own thing. [Porn] kind of teaches you a lot if you do it the right way,” she says. “You get to control how much you work, how little you work. You can basically suck at this job if you choose to or you can do really well. And if you do it the right way then you will do really well. And it’s all about making sure you are also keeping your self esteem high and not letting people walk all over you. That’s also important in this industry, too.” She says hopefully someday soon she’d like to win an AVN Award. “I want to be the best I can be in this industry while I’m in it,” Dior says. “I want to go as far as I can possibly go. I want to have at least $100,000 in my bank account in the next year. If I’m going to be in this industry I want to be the best I can be in this industry. I always try to do my best work in every scene.” When she’s not doing porn, she’s a self-proclaimed “gym freak.” “It keeps me sane,” Dior says. “I like to hike. I like to read. I’m not much of a party person, believe it or not. I like to read and write as a hobby. I’m going to start going back to school possibly. I like to learn. My mind never ends. I’m always thinking.”
